It was ranked 1st last year academically in Montana of 44 Class 'B' schools! The students are held to high standards and are valued and esteemed.

No one, not one school can claim that 'they havent had a fight in 8 yrs,' and Colstrip is no exception. One of the deficiencies in this school remains their inability or lack of desire to acknowledge ongoing problems. One of the other major problems remains that upper level positions such as Super, Principals are promoted from within and therefore cannot see challenges in a new light. There are however many really dedicated teachers, my hat is off to them.

I think that colstrip, montana's high school is the best because they haven't had a fight there in 8 years. They have a community center for the high schoolers to get away from stress related problems and a daycare for parents who need to work and they have playgrounds that have sidewalks to go to all of them and instead of crossing the road to get there, they go under the road so the kids stay safe....

#1 Problem at this school is the tolerance and inability to effectively deal with bullying. Girl on girl bullying is especially bad from 7th grade on especially for new students. #2 An 'A' in this district will not enable a student to be ready for college. The School's average ACT score for last year was 17 well below the national average of 21. This school needs stronger emphasis on Sciences, Math and college prep and less on sports. This school spends 17,000 per student vs 8,500 average for Montana but does not provide a stronger education.
