This school has a bullying problem and a staff that does nothing to help the targets of the bullies. The staff act unprofessionally, operating on personal agendas instead of as teachers, models and mentors for the students they are entrusted with. They have failed AYP consistently but continue with the same ineffective instructional practices because that is what the teachers want to do. Hopefully the new principal will lead them. The community has a lot of poverty with related problems that need to be overcome and not used as an excuse for failure to achieve.

Right now my son is hating school. He always loved school, and is in the top of his class, but now it's a struggle just to get him to go. I met with the teachers, and he is right, they are not nice. Learning should be fun, and they seemed to have forgotten that. We need more positive reinforcement, and some teachers aids to take the stress off these teachers. Also, I think there is to much emphases on testing for government funding, and not enough smiles.
