This school was unhelpful, and demeaning in its processes. I was able to slide by with good grades (although I was given a poorer grade than I deserved in some classes as some sort of 'lesson' in humility and the humble student-enthusiastic teacher relationship). It also helped that I was able to get along with peers on a daily basis, but no real emotional healing happened. There was no real change, just an understanding of defeat. I graduated and drank immediately when I came home. I have been clean for two years, and it was only through despair and a death in my soul that I was able to get clean and start working a twelve step program. Kids don't get clean (insert any other action) when you force them to - they are people no matter what age - 5 or 16. Work with your children, don't abandon them.

I attended MMS for about 9 months it wasthe least effective program I am have been in. You are givena false sense of freedom which allows you to make many mistakes and then be punished repeatedly for them. the therapy is poor. Almost nothing can be accomplished with 2 hours a night and 25 girls who need time in this so called 'group therapy session' .

MMS saved our daughters life. Was not an easy experience for us as parents or her as a student, but feel blessed the school came into our lives. Our daughter graduated from college this year and just got her first real job. She now knows what it is like to have pride in herself and we are so proud of her.

I'm not a parent, but believe I can offer great commentary about MMS. I was a student there for 2 years and graduated in July 2000. Currently I am attending Massage School and have accomplished getting a BA in Psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. I would never be where I am today without MMS. I finally learned how to have a functional relationship with my parents, and I realized that I am worth caring for. The staff and other students were incredibly supportive and I still think about MMS daily. I am still in touch with many alumni which provides me with a lasting support network. I am eternally grateful for this program.

The horsemanship activities allow students to enjoy outdoor classes that are fun and teach them how to get along with life twist and turns.
