Was a great school 45 years ago. I'm sure it still is: Mrs. Wilson taught me how to poach an egg, Mrs. Larson believed in me and so I came to believe in myself. Mr. Shibilee saw me through a rough patch as the class runt and taught us folk songs. Mr Fuller was never PC and taught us lessons for adulthood. Mr Swenson gave me a love for science. Once in the 5th grade, I brought a pornographic mag I found to the playground, My teacher sat me down and told me how it dishonored women and I needed to learn to honor them instead. My 11 year old heart broke. I have never forgot that! God Bless her!! These teachers gave me the footing I needed to grow into the Engineer and the man of integrity that understands that honoring God meant honoring my fellow man and standing for the weakest makes us all stronger. I have a son who needs self contained classroom and this school and teachers have been the all time best at providing for him. I think he needs a little more disipline in the classroom, but he loves his teachers and paraproffessionals. Great for ED kids!
My children have ben going to Lewis and Clark for over five years now. I love this school it is very parent friendly and kid friendly. The principal and staff are amazing along with a very strong PTA. Currently the school is going through a Parent Involvement Certification process to be recognized by National PTA as a parent involvement school of excellence. Parents and students excell at Lewis and Clark Elementary. It is a great place to hang out also, there is a parent room with resources for all kinds of issues along with a very extended support staff to help with behaviors at home or home work trouble. Lewis and Clark staff are family friendly and the principal has an open door policy. This schoo gets an A+ from me. Maggie Walters
