My kids have gone to this school from day one I have four in the school 1 child this is their first year 2nd child 2 years and 3rd and 4th have gone there for 8 years. We did get off to a rocky start. The admin they have now is great compared to what was there 8 years ago. For a small school the kids learn a great deal The small class size helps and the fact that the middle school kids have the same teachers for high school is great as the teachers get to know the kids and the families very well. Over all due to the small class sizes teachers can give and do give the personal touch to teaching. As is the case with all schools there are problems but they seem to be less than other places.
I think Hot Springs High School is a great place for a student to go to high school. Everybody is very friendly and accomedating. I have truely enjoyed my time there.
School lacks leadership and there is a shortage of extra curricular activies for the students except sports and FCCLA. There is poor communication between administration and parents. The school could have great potential with the right leadership from the administration and also the school board.
Quality of academic programs is low due to lack of leadership. Potential for this school is tremendous with the right leadership and curriculum support. Availability of music, art, sports, and other extracurricular activities is average for town this size. Parent involvement is average.
