About the test
In 2013-2014 Montana used the Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT) in Science only. The Science CRT is aligned to Montana Content Standards. Only students in grades 4, 8, and 10 will take the Science CRT. The CRT is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Montana. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. Reading and Math will be assessed using Smarter Balanced.
