RLHS is truly a "one in a million" high school. We have three students who have gone through the program. All three were well prepared for college and are succeeding because of the influences at RLHS. The building principal is one of the best. Greets every student at the door every day with a smile and a "great day greeting". He truly goes the extra mile and so do the teachers. There is a positive, uplifting spirit throughout the building. The kind of place kids deserve. A superior high school and state of the art new building campus. Most beautiful HS campus in the state!!!
Red Lodge High School is a medium sized rural high school of approximately 200 students with a focus on achievement and educational success. Set in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, an hour south of Billings, the District and staff are committed to helping our students achieve and succeed in life. Approximately 30% of our Seniors score a 25 or higher on the ACT and the majority go on to a two or four year college. We offer a broad range of classes and have one of the most stringent graduation requirements of high schools in Montana.
The HIgh School at Red Lodge has a caring staff that works to help each student be successful. Parents, community members and the business community are all welcome and encouraged to take part in the educational process. Approximately 50% of the staff has advanced degrees and are committed to staying current with educational trends. All in all a wonderful school.
As a former student and current parent of a RLHS attendee I can say with confidence that RLHS is indeed a great school. The current high school principal is phenomonal and the majority of his teaching staff follows his excellent example. Their senior math instructor, MK, is particularly great as is their English/Drama instructor, JC. There seems to be a growing problem with the attitudes of the students. Perhaps lack of parental involvement? Perhaps all together unstable 'situations'. Whatever the case may be, the 'cliques' have multiplied over the last 5 years and the problems associated with social groups have increased considerably. As have the drug/violence related incidents. Nevertheless the staff nd faculty seem to be addressing and curbing as well as any district can be expected to. Overall? RLHS s a great place for your kids to learn, grow, and prepare for the world that awaits them.
