Students in White Sulphur Springs are typical to others in small towns in Montana. With limited economic resources, the school district has struggled to fund current programs. Those programs, though limited in scope, provide a good overall base for students looking for entry level job skills and continued education at the secondary level. As evidenced by student achievement scores and success of graduates upon leaving the district, students receive a 'good' education as compared to others in small town settings. Cultural exposure is limited, but occasional opportunities for learning fine art and music exist. Extracurricular opportunities consist mainly of sports, vocational clubs and special interest groups. Athletics are widely supported by the community, particularly basketball, but have generally suffered over the years with low turnouts and lack of tradition. Facilities are comparable to schools of similar size. The gymnasium is attractive and the football and dirt track complexes are well-kept.

WSS public schools are definitely a safe place to send your children for an education. They are raised in a small town, close knit environment, everyone watches out for each others children. I feel however, since we are a poverty stricken district that we don't get the highest quality teachers.
