My daughter goes to this school. She is a great student and carries a straight B average. The complaints made by her is that the teachers don't take enough time to explain the homework assignment, and the lack of hairnets worn by the kitchen staff. She is in need of occupational therapy and the school does provide great ot and pt staff. The teachers in our families opinion need to remember that times are changeing and things that worked in the 70's and 80's dont necessarily work for todays children they are much smarter and advanced then the students of those years.with the budget restraints and economy the way it is I can understand the lack of current teaching materials. but the teachers need to remember the children are still children and they are people and feeling need to be thought of.Parents are not listened as they should.

This school could use more teachers with compasion for the students rather then the pay check. My daughter is in 6th grade here and complains about the teachers ability to explain the homework assignment. Most teachers provide lip service only to the parents and say they will work with child but go on with the way things have been done for decades. The students are useing text books that are from the 80's. In todays fast changeing world I believe an update on books should be required every 5 years atleast. With budget decreasing and teachers haveing higher numbered classes I belive this school lacks ability to properly devote time to the students.

The academic programs are the best that a small-town school could offer. The majority of the teachers seem as if they have came from the small-town background, so their level of student to teacher communication is beyond exceptional. I went to middle school there and by far, it was the best years of my school life. The only thing holding this school back is the funding. With the appropriate funding, this school could be 5 star.

Auburn Middle School has quite a few excellent teachers, and the small classes thrive from their attention. There is a need for more research on programs this school provides and a problem with 'this is the way we've always done it.' Parental complaints are occasionally not taken seriously. However, on average this is a very good school.
