I agree with the student review that Aurora Schools are more concerned about sports than academics. I believe this school does 'leave your child behind' unless you are 'somebody' or your parents are 'somebody'. They certainly didn't plan their construction well and accepted the construction of the project without a completion date which in turn has resulted in a unsafe school environment. They were more worried about getting their school bond approved and construction started than getting construction guarantees with the project. Regardless, my biggest concern is the average to below average student does not receive proper attention or enough assistance with core curriculum. Until this affects their 'no child left behind' criteria your child will not get noticed and by then it is too late.

Aurora Middle School is a wonderful school - one of the best in the country! Its teaching staff is experienced, knowledgeable, and very caring. It embraces the best of middle school philosophy, and its educational programs are at the cutting edge. Its facilities were just average, but a new building project will make them superior. The procedures in place guarantee a safe and disciplined school. Its extra-curricular programs are extensive, but are always kept in the proper educational balance. Its testing system - unique to Aurora - is rigorous but honest. Aurora Middle School is a great place to send your children - they will get a great education there!

While the academics are good this school pays more attention to sports than they do to other extracurricular activities. Some of the teachers care more about money than ablity. The teachers are good but the school board is not. They do not care about the well being of the children. Last but not least, this school should just enforce uniforms for they are too worried about everything being gang related and such.
