im soon to be 16 years old, im just tryint to find out if it would be a good place for me, i wpuld like to get my GED, i dropped out of high school because i had really bad grades, and i wasnt able to catch up, my mom and family is supporing me, nd incouraging me to go to the job corp in Chadron, I want to change my life nd start new.
my daughter is 19 and has been in job corps in chadron since sept.2009, she is doing great and she loves it there.
I am the parent of a student at Pine Ridge Job Corps. My son was basically achieving nothing at home. This program really helped him with his self-esteem and got him motivated to finish his GED and a trade. In fact, he won an academic certificate one month. I would have never thought that was possible before he entered. He now intends to go on to advanced training. This program works if the kids will meet the teachers and counselors halfway and do their part.
I am an entering student in to the program and so far i love every thang abuot it and wish i would of known sooner i have a borther and cousin in the job corps program and it has made a world of differance in both of their lifes and to aney one conserding it they should go for it you will have nothing but warm welcomes from the time you walk in the door just to get info till the time you leave
I am not a parent of a student, I am a former student of Pine Ridge Job Corps. I loved the experience and enjoy a new sense of selfworth because of my experience. I recommend that anyone who wants to learn go there. It was a wonderful experience
Counselors are more concerned with being pals with the kids rather than mentoring them. They want them to act like adults but give no guidance which is what most of them need. Don't send your child if they have severe self esteem issues. You must stay in constant contact(daily)if your child is to complete a program.
I was a student at Pine Ridge and i liked it more than my regular high school. I met so many nice people up there i really can not say how much those people mean to me, like Holly Ladwig, Jessica wempen, Joseph Griffith, Brenda Griffith, and so many other people that helped change my life.
I am a parent of a student at pine ridge job corp. My son is a smart kid who dropped out of school when he was 15 and just was going no where,,,at 16 we got him into the program where he is getting his GED and now making some plans for his future. I am impressed with the turn around in his life and think he has a good shot at a decent life now. This program is a real world school that focus;s on acheivement, not rote learning, so he is challeged by the learning and it is meaningful to him,
I am not a parent of a student I was a student of Pine ridge. I really enjoyed my learning and the training I learned up there. I went from Job Corps straight to the Military.
This is a great program for teenagers to go if they drop out of scool for whatever reason. i went there and got my diploma in three months. i love that place.
