My son attended Pound, and I was disappointed in the lack of communication between the teachers and parents. Even though the teachers have email address's - they acted as if it was a 'bother' to email a parent about homework not being turned in. So, after more and more homework assisgnments were missed - up comes parent teachers conferences and then BAM! You're kid is struggling, and you feel like a terrible parent. I even created a sign off sheet for homework, but some teachers refused to use it.

Outstanding! The administration and teaching staff are responsive and are doing a great job of educating my kids. Most teachers have high expectations, but I want my children to be challenged.

Pound is a nice school. It is clean. It is well staffed and organized. The teachers are really good. They communicate fairly well. There is a counselor for each grade, and the counselors follow a class from 6th-8th grade. (Does that make sense?) It is in a good neighborhood also.

The quality of academics is wonderful and the teachers are very knowledeable. The lacking is in discipline and safety issues at this school.

My son entered 6th grade at Pound. There is very little discipline. I wrote to the Principal and he basically said he chose his battles and that is the way it is.
