The High School is horrific and the latest principal is in over his head. The principals and administration all continue to receive raises, even though assessments and grades are lower than ever. I moved my children due to this fact. The school they are now attending is not what I consider a jewel but it is much better than what North Platte Public is at this time. I would recommend sending your kids to the private North Platte school or one of the smaller public schools around the area.

In general a very good school and well run by the teachers. A large problem is that education is not highly valued by a large amount of the community. Almost all of the teachers are good however the quality of students that goes to NPHS is pretty low

as a single parent to 4 very active children in 7-12 grade, I am very lucky to have them in NPPSD. I have got nothing but the best support in and out of the school for me and my family!

My children have gotten nothing but the very best from all of the educators and staff at North Platte public schools. They have enjoyed participating in all of the activities available to them and we feel that the everyone encourages them to participate and do their best. There are so many opportunities for them.

too many hours of study so it creates a lot of stress on the students as well as teachers and parents. I would recommend going to a different school.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Nebraska used the Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA) assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in reading and math; in grades 4, 8 and 11 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 11 in science. The NeSA assessments are standards-based tests, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Nebraska. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
