Ogallala has a strong athletic and academic tradition and their Fine Arts program is simply amazing! The 1:1 laptop program is under utilized, but the school continues to improve.

Ogallala High School has had a downward fall in the past, but the last 6 years they have been slowly getting back on their feet. The students now have a better opportunity to learn by having the laptops to better communicate with the teachers or to work on homework while they are out of school. The teachers now like to teach the kids in a fun way. The school has a brand new track, there are many extra activities that students can participate in and the advisors make spending your time with the club worth it. I read previous remarks about the students not being welcomed, and what I would like to know is if the student tried to make friends. If they tried to be in clubs, fine arts, sports, or if they just went to school sat in the corner of the classrooms, only spoke if the teacher called on them, and then went home afterwards. In high school no matter where you are each student is responsible for their own high school life. They can play a pity party and do nothing or they can join in activities and make friends for life. They have had new updates and the community is trying to get a new school built, but are having problems getting it passed.

Being very envolved in many different activities, and having many friends, I always try and warmly welcome new students. I have learned many things at Ogallala High School, whether it was educational or not, and am happy to say I will graduate with that attidue.

I went to the Ogallala High School for only one semester...and it was the worst semester I have ever spent at a school. The students are not welcoming at all to new students and the teacher (with an exception of one or two) are just as bad. This school is not a good environment for any child and parents should know about those things that go on. I chose not to continue going to that school because I didnt feel safe. Think twice before you send a student to this school..It might be better for both you and your child.

I am currently a student of OHS. I haven't learned anything new because the school is so far behind. They have block schedules and only finish half of what other schools do. If you ever have any problems and confront the principal he will try and pin the problem on you or your child. Also most of the teachers aren't good. Some act as if they either don't have time for you or don't wish to speak to you at all. If you think this won't happen to your kid you are mistaken because many kids have gone through these same things and can't do anything about it.Please don't move here and force your child to go through this. Words cannot describe how bad this place is. Again please do not let your child go through this. They won't be happy and neither will you. Email me if questions.

The Ogallala high school is one of the worst I've ever had to deal with. The teachers and students do NOT welcome new students and they make fun of any differences!

MOst Teachers in OHS are not active with the students. They don't seem to want to be there anymore so than the students. The addition of an alternitive school to Ogalla was a saving grace for many struggling students, it created an envirmoment with kind people who genuinly want to help the students.
