I have two children in Skinner. And I'am pleased with the staff and all their efforts to make sure that the children excel in every way. Skinner has a excellent curriculum that pushes each student to their full potential. The staff is easy to work with and very caring and passionate in what they do.

My children are involved in many activities at Skinner. They can get all the tutoring and participate in many after school programs. They are exposed to many cultural activities. The teachers and staff are wonderful and very helpful.

The test scores are never correct at this school. They are prompted to have the teachers assist students that have failing grades to help them pass these manditory state testings. (CRTs) Very little control in the school. Lunch time is not controled at all. Some teachers it seems that the children control the class and the teachers do not care. These teacher allow some children to do what they like in the class room allowing for diruptions. This will make it hard for good student to excell!

My son has been blessed by the opportunities afforded him at Skinner Magnet. The staff works constantly to build new challenges and to keep the children engaged in learning- no matter what their interests. Coming from a school where my son was considered a disciplinary problem to a school where he only excels in every direction...I can't thank the staff enough for seeing the potential, and higher intelligence, that he possessed. If my son had missed out on this incredible school/staff he would now be in behavioral classes- instead, he is in 2nd grade but reading, and doing math, at a 5th grade level.

Skinner is a wonderful school. The students are exposed to a variety of curriculum and extra curricular activities. The principal and staff are excellent! They are a professional, caring and concerned staff.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
