I give this school 3 stars for only a few reasons. The teachers are fantastic! My guidance counselor saved my life in many ways. The challenges offered here were great and you were given a chance to succeed if you had the will to do so. Overall I spent some of my best years here and made some life long friends. However.... I watched as many students were falling through the cracks. Students with bad attitudes, drug problems, bullies, and lack of respect for other students and staff members were ignored. I was different growing up. I rebelled. I had a lot of friends but I was constantly bullied and little if anything was done by the school. I was taunted, jumped by other students to the point of injury and being bloodied. Yes these students were usually the "preppies" or rich kids. Usually a minor punishment or none was given. Being different I was usually guilty before I even had a chance to speak. I just hope things have changed since then. It didn't affect my life permanently but I remember many times being scared to go to school. I hope things have changed there a bit as it has been 10 plus years since I attended. Overall I received an excellent education there. Nuff said.

Millard North is an exceptional high school where teachers and administrators create a sense of belonging for all students. In fact, there are many opportunities and activities for kids. Although it's a large school, it's easy to feel connected at MNHS whether you live inside the district or outside the district. The principal went out of his way to provide a tour for my daughter, my husband, and me during a very busy time of year before we decided on MNHS. This personalized attention made quite an impression on our family.

Milard North is a high school that has the potential to be great. It is in fact too large. Huge numbers of kids are excluded from sports teams, activities, and leadership positions because there are simply too many kids! Yet they still allow transfers from inside and outside the district. I see alienation followed by disinterest in school by many students. Millard North is not doing a great job for many of its student!

Millard North is an outstanding high school. MN is annualy ranked near the top in overall athletics and most competitions that clubs take part in. Most importantly is MN's academics. The teachers of MN really care about their students and will go above and beyond to help them succeed. Fellow students had nothing but good things to say about the IB program which makes MN unique in the region. Personally, I stuck to AP classes. After Graduating in '04 I had 37 college credits allowing me to receive a B.S. in Biotechnology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology in only 3 years. I am now starting medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and I owe a great deal of my sucess to MN. My AP Chemistry teacher Mr. Jahn taught me the most of any teacher/professor to date. MN has it all and provides top notch education.

MNHS is a very large school with a wide range of strengths from academics to athletics to clubs. My oldest daughter graduated from there and it prepared her for Texas A&M very well. Our youngest daughter is in the Honors program (IB) and sports and enjoys it immensely. There is something for everyone, but because of it's size it is very competitive and not for everybody. I have been to parent-teacher conferences for 6 years now and feel the teachers are simply wonderful. Only you know your children and their temperment. For most kids this is an excellent school.

I had 2 children attend Millard North, and it is a fabulous school. There are so many activities to be involved in, and they aren't limited to sports only! The music department was terrific and academics is strong. One of my children took a lot of AP classes and is graduating from college a semester early because of the credits she earned. The other was in the first International Baccalaureate class and it was unmatched in any other high school in this area. We will always be huge Millard North supporters!

I have two children currently attending Millard North, a senior and a freshman. I have been very pleased with all aspects of MNHS. Teachers and administrators are very approachable for both students and parents. The principal took it upon himself to become personally involved in a scheduling issue and called my son into his office to discuss possible solutions. Although the school is very large, both of my kids feel like they are a part of a community and both have been able to find extracurricular activities where they feel at home.

My son did not fit into the traditional high school student mold. Even so, his 10th grade teachers and guidance counselor treated him as an important individual. Each staff member offered unique and creative ways to help him succeed. Their care, concern and extra effort played a significant role in why my son is now a high school graduate. This level of commitment to students is a rare find in a larger school.

My child absolutely loved going to Millard North. All four years of her high school were a rewarding experience to her. The teachers, counselors, and principals were incredible. She wouldn't trade those four years of high school at Millard North for anything.

For such a large high school the administration and instructor's involvement with the students and parents is excellent. If I have questions or concerns they have always been immediatly available to me, and the support and care they provide to the students is top notch. The quality of the teaching staff has been superb, and having had 2 children attend Millard North we have nothing but praise for the school.

About these ratings
The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.
In 2011-2012 Nebraska used the Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA) assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in reading and math; in grades 4, 8 and 11 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 11 in science. The NeSA assessments are standards-based tests, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Nebraska. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
