This school doesn't prepare the student for post secondary education at all. The main focus is on sports. No effort by the teaching staff to deter bullying. When I went to school here, only the gifted and the special needs kids got ateention. Everyone else had to fend for themselves. Sad.

I would say the Valentine High School does a good job of teaching the students. I have 2 kids in high school, They have both done well. There is an emphasis on sports that is similar in other school systems i have been a part of, and sometimes put winning ahead of the kids interests. But they do expect kids to learn. They don't coddle the kids, but they do help them learn, and expect the kids to come and talk to the teachers. It has been a good experience for our family.

embarrassing is the best word to use. Focus on sports, not academics. No accountability regarding behavior issues or academic issues. The staff could care less whether or not the student succeeds in life or in school. Very sad.
