Bob Miller is a great school. I ve been here 6-8th. The teachers are amazing here. Basically all of the teachers are nice. They re really easy to get along with and not very strict, which is a definite plus for the students. I actually get along with my teachers so well that I still visit my 6-7th grade teachers before/after school and I m also the babysitter for one as well. We take lots of field trips to various places. Some of which include Catilina Island, El Segundo Sol (spanish class), Mon Ami Gabi (french class), Bodies Exhibit at Luxor, Disneyland, and even Europe (7th & 8th) plus more! And for the 2014-15 school year, 7th grades can take French1 (which is high school credit) to get even further ahead. I find it really easy to get along with people here and get friends, especially for guys. Yes, there are the cliques, but those can be found at any school. Throughout my 3 years here, i have heard of/witnessed three, maybe four fights. Bullying is not a huge problem at all and we even have various ways to report bullies if there are any. Athletics are for sure above average here for numerous sports. Overall, Bob Miller is an amazing school for you, or you re child to attend.

My son is finishing 8th grade this year at Bob Miller. Overall, we have been happy with the school until recently. We finally had a teacher issue and had to speak to the administration about the issue. The administration did their best to blame my son and not address the real issue with this teacher. We are highly disappointed with the outcome and are happy the year is almost over. This teacher has lied to cover up her actions and no one seems to listen to the truth

I understand it is a public school, don't misunderstand what my problem is. You can do everything in your power to provide the support and guidance to you child through the struggles, that is our job as a parent, Is it fair to say that a teachers job is to teach our children not to encourage unproductive behavior. Moving was not the issue it was the treatment after she did everything to prove herself.

Please do not forget, Bob Miller is a public school. You cannot expect much from public schools, however wherever you go, smart kids perform great anyway. This school is doing much better than private schools around this area. It is not better than the private the other side of the town. You pay nothing and get better education than private schools. Is that wonderful? You shouldn't change your child's school often unless your child is in critical situation. Your child needs to solve problems by herself. You have to educate your child how to keep on truck herself. Even your child can learn something from hopeless teachers. If you are lucky, you meet excellent teachers. It happens in any school. Bob Miller does a great job as a public school.

I will also say that Bob Miller is supposed to be the best in the district and that's not saying much because Nevada is pretty low on the totem pole in ratings nationwide but they do try. However if you want a curriculum that is challenging and not over crowded you won't find those things here. The Principal turn over rating is ridiculous and some of the stringent dress codes are also ridiculous. We're leaving Nevada for good because I want my kids to have a better education than Nevada has to offer. I mean this is a district that does not ever take the children on field trips and rarely has assemblies. The only really great thing is that Clark County has a budget for transporting your kids to school where most districts nationwide do not. I remember the 2011/2012 school year they were experimenting with a 9:00am school start and I thought it was fabulous and the school didn't like it so they decided to do away with it and start at 7:25am for the 2012/2013 school year and I just thought it was crazy. 8:00 would have been more feasible.

This school is undeserving of even one star. The discipline system is awful: I almost got expelled for something that could've been fixed by counseling due to my poor social skills, but instead was treated as a campus disturbance that was solely my fault, even though other students participated and they went unpunished. They reported me after feeling uncomfortable that I, the resident scapegoat and last on the popularity list, was participating, so they reported me. It just goes to show how the supposed "victims" get all the power. I suspect the administrators are biased when it comes to making punishments. Teachers bully kids and don't treat everyone fairly as they should. Despite the motto of "Be Kind, Be Miller," bullying abounds. Just take a walk through the halls in the shoes of a "creepy!" person, as kids have taunted at me all year. Unfortunately, at Miller, academic talent and intricate personalities don't hold merit, sitting me by myself at lunch, feeling like the spat-out, stepped-on, disregarded wads of gum on the courtyard. (Do folks even care about cleanliness over there?) Its environment is hostile and clique-y. Stay away. Thank goodness I'm being transferred. -LB

MY SON IS CONSTANTLY BEING BULLIED AND HIT AT THIS SCHOOL AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT! THEY WANT HIM TO GO TO CLASSES TO "COPE WITH BEING BULLIED" IN OTHER WORDS ACCEPT BEING BULLIED! HOW ABOUT THEY MAKE THE BULLY'S ATTEND CLASSES ON HOW TO TREAT OTHER HUMAN BEINGS WITH RESPECT AND KINDNESS!!

I love this school. My son is from a Spanish background and has never been interested in learning Spanish. For the firs time in his life he is actually speaking to us in Spanish. This touches my heart because he seems to want to know about our heritage and LOVES to speak Spanish. I went to the Europe meeting last night to thank Mr. Ekker because he has put a spark in our son and has made him love school. We are sending him to Europe. This trip is the most amazing thing that Miller has to offer. WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL.

After reading some of these reviews I really wanted to set the record straight and give Bob Miller a two thumbs up!!! Bob Miller has exceptional teachers and well and an amazing curriculum. I have had two students graduate from Bob Miller with straight A's all three years and they entered high school above and beyond most students from other schools. This was mainly visible in Spanish. My students had Mr. Ekker and they were at least 2-3 months ahead of the sophomores, juniors, and seniors in their classes. He was so personable, professional, and engaging my children wanted to strive their best each day. Not only did he do great things in the classroom he took the kids to Segundo Sol to learn culture from a great chef and also took them to Europe. I can't believe the dedication and time this teacher gives to his students on a daily basis. The rest of their teachers were great also. Mr. Stedman was amazing and the Geography department was too.

Moved from Tennessee to Vegas in 8th grade and attended BMM and it was the worst year. The kids were snooty brats who just ask mommy and daddy for more money and the teachers had favorites and the rest of the students were just... there. Was a straight A student in all classes until moving there. The teachers don't teach, and all the students were texting during class so learning became harder. Grades dropped to B's, and an F even though I would be up all night re-teaching myself everything. Definitely NOT recommended unless you have the money to pay off the teachers to give good grades -_-

I went here for 3 years, and graduated in 2005. I aboslutely hated it! Each year got worst! The worst 3 years of my life. Some of the teachers were nice. But some of them were unkind and unjust, especially when they had favorites in the class. The students were terrible. Kids that were expelled from other schools got sent here, which made things worst. There was a physical altercation a lot of the time. And get this!! My fellow peers were rude, unkind, discriminating because of social class, and had a very elitist attitude that I hate till this day. The principal said you are in a good school. Well I beg to differ! It was one of the worst middle schools in town. PS if you are a family that is working class, sending your child here maybe a mistake, for it is a filthy prep school for kids with wealthy families to attend!!!

Hopefully the grammar and spelling of the reviewers here are not indicative of the education one gets at Miller. We are impressed with what we've seen academically, however, the sports program is politically influenced. Your son or daughter maybe an excellent athlete, but they do run the risk of not making a team if there's someone related to a coach. We've experienced it and so have others.

Terrible school! The counsler seems unwilling and incompetent to help solve any problem. Frustrated here waiting for her to get back to us since the beginning of the semester, because she never did. Just talked to her, and once again, she told us she would get back to us... maybe never like before. Oh, it's been almost 4 weeks, and I am going nuts.

Chose our property to be zoned for Bob Miller. Great decision! Our daughter completed 6th grade and is looking forward to the next two years. The teachers and counseling staff are amazing and truly care about the students. The principal writes frequent emails to parents, writes lovely notes on my daughter's report card (straight A's). I have personally witnessed him directing traffic at the end of the day. I really love this school!

I'm in my eighth grade year at Miller, and have been here since sixth grade. I absolutely love it! Most of the students here are extremely nice and caring. However, you can tell some teachers do not want to be there at all. The campus is clean, the custodians and hall monitors are nice. The deans are very lenient and kind. The principal is awesome! But, we have Macs and iPod touches, when we really need new books. But overall, I love Miller and I wish I could stay here forever. Miller is my family.

This school is top notch! The principal shows excellent leadership and has hand-picked the best teachers to deliver instruction to students who attend this school. Teachers have high expectations and they create a positive learning environment. The Parentlink automated system is updated regularly so parents can access how well their child is doing in school. There are many clubs and activities to keep students engaged in the school community. Parents can receive regular communication about the school's events through the Principal's emailed newsletter, parent meetings, and the school newsletter. This school is the best in Henderson!

In response to the student statement about bullying, Miller is one of the few schools that is taking a proactive stance against all forms of bullying at school, both physical and online forms. The librarian has lead two evening sessions for parents on the dangers and solutions of cyberbullyng, the entire 7th grade has had guest speakers from the anti-defamation league to the school to teach about bullying, the counselors are great and lead workshops in different classes about bullying, the entire 8th grade has taken an anonymous cyberbullying survey to help the administration stay current with the needs of the students, and Miller is one of the first schools in Clark County that has a anonymous link on the Bob Miller web-page for students or parents to report any bullying activities at school. If Miller isn't the most aggressively anti-bullying school in the district, then it's definitely near the top!

i was a student at bob miller and there was many opportunities for me there, i was in all advance classes and had the very best teachers, they taught me a whole lot that i still even use now.... bob miller is NOT dirty i do not know where you get that from because i have been there for 3 full years.. we win many awards academically and physically which impressed many others.. it was the best experience of my life i never regret going there.. though i had some difficulty at first when i was new, it was all worth it... class discussions were the best part.. and many teachers were open minded about what we had to say and explained in detail to our questions.. but in unaccelerated classes.. it is kind of different.. they are also treated differently.. but i do know how it is in advanced classes

Though I only attended Miller for the second semester of my eighth grade, I have to say I was terribly disappointed with the school. My parents chose our house around the schools that were best, and though Miller had good promises, it just didn't live up. Most of my teachers were intelligent, yes, but they either didn't know how to control a class or didn't know how to properly teach us. The PE was pathetic, the leadership class doing hardly anything and the lunch - or rather 'crazed feeding time', as I refered to it - was a badly organized mess. All they do is praise the above average students and forget about the average ones or the ones who are in average - what they call in a morally degrading term 'Developmental' - classes. My experience there was less than optimistic.

Its a great way to get involved in the school if you are a new student it also looks good! You plan all the dances and most of the schools events! As a student I have to say this school has been the best school I've ever been to. The teachers really do care about students who are falling behind, that is, unless they are disruptive. My reading teacher was teacher of the year for Nevada and I really can't argue with that reward. As far as other teachers go they are equally great as well. At this school I feel safe. All in all this school is by far the best in all of Clark County.

I was an administrator at this school who moved from the state last year (2006) and really enjoyed myself during my two years at Miller. I'm now an administrator in another state and I must say that Miller is certainly the middle school to be at period. From the administration to the teachers to the students, it simply doesn't get any better. I truely miss working there and can only hope to work with such great people again! Keep up the great job! I've attended this school for three years and just recently graduated, and I have to say this is without a doubt the best middle school in Clark County. It's no secret that our county doesn't have the best testing scores, but Miller is the exception. We've got the scores to prove we're the smartest in county. Besides that, the sports are great. Miller has a championship winning basketball team, a three team consecutive winning JV Quiz team, a top notch performing arts program(in every aspect), and plenty of clubs to get involved in. It also has to be one of the safest areas in Clark County. Teachers are amazing. Especially if you have a kid going into the accelerated program, then you're child will definitely get taught by a group of dedicated teachers. Academics, Sports, Teachers, and a variety of clubs is what keeps Miller at the top.

I attened Bob Miller for seventh and eighth grade; for sixth grade I attened another middle school in Clark County, comparing the two Bob Miller definately has a better campus, a more friendly atmosphere and I felt safer. Bob Miller MS is a school filled with hard working teachers and administrators who continually go beyond the call of duty to ensure student achievement. There are countless clubs and after school activities. There are a variety of sports: Basketball, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Hiking, Biking, Tennis, Bowling, and others. The music and arts programs are high quality with caring and enthusiastic teachers. There is a very high academic standard as well. The counselors take their job very seriously, proactively helping students to adjust to middle school/teenage/adult life, and also make certain that the teachers are equipped to handle any problems that may arise. Bob Miller MS is an excellent school. I recommend it to anyone who cares about their child's education.

The academics at this school are good, but not great compared to other states we have lived in (Texas and Missouri), but for a Clark County School this is about the best you'll get! The administrative staff are very involved with the students and make a great effort to make school fun. Don't get me wrong, though, this is a very strict on discipline school, which is what these kids need! There are some great teachers there, and there are some awful teachers there...we have had both! Our main complaint, besides being a little behind academically, is that there are virtually NO SPORTS at the middle schools in Clark County(and they wonder why the gang and youth violence is on the increase in Clark County). Their band/orchestra/choir is top notch. Overall, probably the best Middle School in Clark County.

I had a 7th grader which attended during the 05-06 school year. It was 50/50. The teachers were extreme. On one side they were the most generous/supportive/encouraging educators. On the other, mean spirited/cruel/unkind and apparently did not like children very much! At times I wondered why this person was teaching our children at all! Unfortunately these 2 particular female teachers really put a bad taste in my mouth about this school. I won't go into the unprofessional office staff they have! It's mainly the registration staff and one particular administrator that told me 'she didn't like getting involved with parent/teacher relations' I wonder what exactly does this woman do? The only positive--the school band, and the very dedicated band teacher, and maybe a few educators I can count on one hand!

My daughter goes to this shool. She was supported by all her teachers. All s even of her teachers showed up to meetings. They would email when she was following behind. She was getting additional help in her classes, this school really cares about there students and make it easy for parents to follow along and help there kids also. Thanks for being there for my daughter and me. Everytime I go there they have an activity going on for these kids such as tennis. Alot of these teachers offer homework help on there own time afterschool, they will even help in other classes. They have a email between parent, teacher, and student to keep everyone on track to missing assignments, absences and test scores. If your complaining about this school then I think your kids lying to you .

I am a student at BMMS, and have been for 3 years. First off, this is a great school. Our school has may more after schools activities, and electives. I am taking band this year, and I am enrolled in Jazz band and Symphonic band. We are one of the few schools that offers the Jazz band. The school also has alot of spirit, we can thank the great staff for that, especially our principal, who puts his own money into this school. If you can enroll in this school. Do it.

I am a student at Bob Miller. I think anybody who thinks this isn't a so-totally-awesome school should really try talking to everyone in it. Yeah, some of the teachers might be a little mean, but you can't say you never went through school without at least one mean teacher. My son attended Bob Miller for two years. During his two years at Bob Miller most of his teachers were very uncooperative and only a few seemed to really care. It seemed like they had a very low staff morale. My son did well, but struggled with the negative attitudes coming from the teachers. We eventually found a home in an area outside of this schools boundaries. Our son is now very happy at his new school. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I think this school is wonderful. We have school spirit, we try so hard in reaching our goals, and we give others a good influence. We really try hard to be the best too. I highly recommend this school.
