the deand scare me and are strict, they have intresest if you pass the next grade,to much bullying, they make learning difficult, and the "leadership" means popular kids get to pick and be rude to other kids
This is an amazing school. The course you can take academically are outstanding and the teachers help you every step of the way.
My son started DWMS this year (8th grade). I for one have to say my experience was extremely satisfying from the Registration Office, Dean, Principal Assistant and Principal ...they were nothing but pleasant and showed a real concern for education. Most of all an immediate response to my concerns. Dealing with another school before and this one now the experience with staff members and teachers is a 360
Don't be fooled by the smile the Principal puts on at school events. She's a very condescending and disrespectful administrator to both her staff and the parents. I've truly never had confrontation with any CCSD administrator until I personally met Ms. Naegle. The tone of her voice is rude; she doesn't listen well; and she intimidates the teaching staff. Her way or the highway.
Well I just started going to del Webb and by far it's fun and amazing! I love all the teachers because they care and will help you out if your having trouble! They helped me in math and now I have an A in it! I recommend this school because as long as you work hard, you can accomplish anything! ;)
I have spent all of middle school on these grounds, and I can personally recommend that this is one of the best schools to go to in the district. Unlike many schools (or at least what is stereotypically(?) publicized of middle/high schools), Del Webb has no status quo; hence, there are no strict judgement among social groups, and everyone is caring. My personal experience at this school was far beyond my expectations: the worries of going into middle school never presented, the school had an extreme lack of (little to none) bullying, and it will be the most memorable years of my life. Many argue that the teachers are mean, but honestly (because my sister has been to another school around this district (due to zoning complications) and I have heard her experiences), you will not find any teachers like these anywhere else. It is not that the teachers are strict; it is that the teachers are widely variant in attitudes which teaches students how to deal with the tough demands of strict teachers as well as have fun in learning. At the end of the year, I noticed that the bad and the good can coalesce into a year that was overall prosperous. P.S. Don't mind the drama; it pays off.
I have been beaten down. In my six grade year, going to this school caused me to just break down, and leave the school just to be able to breathe. The kids were terrible. Not in a noticeable way, no; but in a way that makes you try so so hard to be something your not. I came back to this school in 8th grade, and nothing has changed. Don't go here, please. Let yourself be you.
I am a current 8th grader at del webb ms, and all i have to say is that its a great school overall! I dont get why there are so much hateful comments: the deans are strict (that's their job! to keep things orderly!) other people are complaining about foul language and bullying/cyber bullying. Of course EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL has these things, and, again, more the reason why we have such strict deans and/or teachers. The only comment i have is too much homework. I'm not whining or anything but i often stay late at night 12-1am working on tons of assignments! If the teachers would just lay off on the homework, maybe just a little, then it would help me and others SO much. That's all i really want to say. The teachers here are great, very productive and extremely friendly. They take time off of their own lives to help individual students with their confusion and misconceptions. Our counselors and principal are SO nice and are really approachable. Many thanks for this great school and all the things that they have offered to me. Regards to all the new 6th graders coming into del webb, and get ready to walk into this school with open arms. ---anonymous really going to miss del webb~
I'm in 7th grade at Del Webb and it's so far the worst school ever. Half of the teachers are horrible, and don't take the time to help you. The deans are aggressive and are too strict when it comes to dress code and other things that go on. The kids there are rude. The only good thing about the school is the Principal (who is very nice) and the academics and music and other elective programs.
I had a friend that went to del webb middle school and they had it was terrible teachers were rude werent very happy or not helpfull always yelled at kids when they didnt now the answer or didnt have there homework and they always had a small lunchroom not fun teachers or nice and caring very popular kids that pushed around other kids bullied them and teachers didnt care at other school they cared and di something about not just pushed it aside and bullies didnt care who they hurt didnt matter if u were popular or not its not accepted at other middle schools other middle schools have a large lunch room big gyms concerts nice teachers
I hate this school because over the last year that i was there i got yelled at and the lunch room was so small I felt like i was stuffed in a box. I'm never attending Del Webb again and the kids are so mean well most of them and the dean is always yelling at me and my friends like really! we never did any thing and at lunch all the time it was "stop yelling across the table" we wouldn't have to yell across the table if the lunch room wasn't so small and they tried to fit ever student in that small area at once like really! what they need to do is either knock down a wall and build it farther away from where it was or build another building that's BIGGER and use the old lunch room for the dances and every thing else that they do.
Hi, I myself, was a 6th grader in Del Webb in the 2011-2012 school year. I only found some teachers helpful, and not judgmental sadly. I really loved Ms. torchin the math teacher and probably the only teacher at this school who DIDN'T FAVORITE POPULAR KIDS!! AT FIRST I WAS BUMMED TO BE LEAVING DELWEBB FOR BOB MILLER MIDDLE SCHOOL.. BUT NOW I AM HAPPY!! Don't have to put up with so many popular groupies and the cool gangs that hang out in del Webb. I was becoming sort of a loner type in this school cause it just bothered me so much with the expensive populars and cools and whatever that I dislike this school!
Honestly I dispise this school. The only thing keeping me sane were my friends and in my Journalisim class. Ms. Gillis the Journalisim teacher was the best teacher I have ever had! As for my other teachers not so much, some of them were nice but others became really rude. If you do end up going here my advice to you is good luck and to take Journalisim!! I am not attending here for my final year.
My daughter is in 8th grade at Del Webb and has gone there the past three years. She has a mild eye problem and because of this she has to wear sunglasses, the first day of school she was bombarded by deans asking for a doctors note and saying she was not permitted to wear her glasses until they came in contact with a note. There are a few wonderful teachers but most are less then good. One for example complained all year about her love life" and men. Also, this year she was almost suspended for three days because her best friend bumped her knee while they were being teenagers and goofing off in the locker room. Yes, I know this is horseplay ,but a three day suspension? Really? She would have be suspended if I would not have taken the matter to the principle along with her friends mom. Finally, my daughter was traumatically bullied in 6th and 7th grade until she finally "fit in",but she still gets rude comments from time to time. Overall, the students are intelligent ,but the school environment needs a lot of work.
I have 4 kids and all of them went to DWMS, three went to Cornado high school. i currently have one enrolling at DWMS right now. She says DWMS has Good teachers, very clean community, nice people, good school! i would recommend this school.
Good school, met a lot of good friends, excellent teachers, and strong school leadership! :)
Best school ever! My daughter enrolled in Del webb last year, and she had a great time. She joined advanced orchestra and had lots of challenging songs. Her grades went from C's to straight A's! :)
Del Webb Middle School is the best school. We are a military family and have been to many schools - my kids say DWMS has been the best school. Proactive principal has great leadership skills. I recommend DWMS to everyone moving to Henderson.
I love Del Webb! It's such a great school, and the teachers are very nice! :D Well, some are strict but they're all pretty nice I guess. This is my 2nd year in Del Webb. I look forward to school so I can pretty much see my friends. LOOOL. The people who rated the school 1 are whiny. The deans are scary, but if you do nothing bad, they won't even pay attention to you. -.- And it's good that there is a one way hallway. If people went one way and other people went the other way, people would get hurt. -.- And stop complaining. Wait until you get to college and until you graduate. -.-
I don't like this school the teachers are mean and hard to understand because they talk so fast. The deans are strict and they scare me. There are one way hallways so you have to go out of the hallway and back around to get to your locker or your next class and we only have 4 minutes to get to class. The principal seems nice. The work is very easy I learned most things that we are learning in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. English and reading are two classes and I think that they should be one class. We are not aloud to bring our backpacks into the classrooms unless we don't have a locker so we have to carry everything in our binders. In P.E. we have to go into a push up position and then into a swat position and then stand up and clap and we have to do that 10 times and I have twisted my ankle twice because of that. My mom made me go to this school because it is rated a ten and is academically strong but they are learning 2nd - 4th grade work.
