My eldest son who is in special education class (Autism Spectrum Disorder) started in Vegas Verdes Elementary school when he was 3 years old .he was not talking, very dependent in every way, has overall developmental delay. I could say that it was a frustration as a parent seeing my kid doing differently than other kids, but words are not enough to say how grateful I am to the teachers who patiently molded my boy into an amazing smart boy who is now in 3rd grade.I owe it to Vegas Verdes Elem School teachers and staff who patiently handled my special boy and other kids like him.Their amazing talents, skills and patience are worth to be thakful for.
I salute all of you teachers who are doing great effort to teach children not only to learn how to read and write but to mold them to be a better person with great dreams and ambitions.I can't imagine our world without you...
Thanks to God for chosing you to be a teacher, a vocation that will make you proud forever because you have touched so many lives...
And again, from the bottom of my heart....
THANK YOU Vegas Verdes Elem. School!!!
As I have stated, We couldn't be happier. We have a student in Clark High, I see how Vegas Verde' is striving to be the start to preparing them for a top 10 Performing arts school. So I must say, We have a Great school, Always room to improve somewhere, not always gonna make everyone happy, But seems to always have someone somewhere who wants too. We will see what the change brings. Lets not loose the ratings.
As for our daughter she is watching and listening to every teacher she has (Some she just watches) They are definitely effective that way. She asks us for a certain teacher next year because she has watched his style. As parents we believe the staff is a partner with us in raising our child, We do believe it is important for them to be effective. We had a Awesome teacher 2013-2014 Because of her strong teaching and corrective way educating, we were able to make it thru the first quarters this year. You have to teach with and in love (compassion and caring) to strict is not good....At the end of the year I believe we got the perfect fit to our daughter's class, She in the next few years when she isndone with her schooling is gonna be one of The BEST the district has to offer.
hard to answer, saw teachers get frustrated in the changes (We went thru 3 teachers) and at the end of the year it was a little overwhelming for the young student teacher who was my daughter's teacher. She couldn't keep up with her own requirements. You have to stay running especially the teacher, can't let your personal life get in the way of teaching my kid. But we were very proud of her, She invested and did her best through trying to keep kids on task and catch kids up, She stayed with this class and saw them trough the year. We were grateful/
It strives to. We have some bullies, But it is NOT tolerated. most of the time it is the parents who show and teach the kids this way, and the kids just come to school and act the way they see things at home, or with others.
Had to personally use the Counseling and nurse a lot this last year. great team ( I hope they will be staying) We really were treated with compassion and empathy as a family, so Yes we know our daughter was treated this way. This is the best way they learn. I lost my dad and 6 months later a sibling of our daughters committed suicide. The Compassion and kindness from the office, Ms, Arby, The counselor, We even were given food for the holidays. Real from the heart compassion. That is what you are teaching Our daughter.
Almost everyone I have come in to contact with is full of these qualities, So as they exercise and use them on the students The students, Hear and see. Children can sense and feel people better than adults. I will miss Ms. Arby, But I believe in the change and hope to get to know the new principal, It will be interesting to see what he brings. This school to me has very high stn=standards and a very organized Campus. I can only believe that CCSD is in to improving the school so it will just be even More awesome. So we will see.
This School has had so many staff changes that I have no idea how my child has done academically this year. They designated it a turnaround school so hopefully the next 2 years it will improve. It has improved since the principle was removed. The pre k program has an amazing teacher Mrs. Grode. She is inspiring, creative and knows how to keep the kids interest. The district needs to hire more teachers. My sons kindergarten class didn't get a permanent teacher until the end of January and went through 4 subs during that time. I really hope for the sake of the children, they get this school on track.
