I am currently a junior at Arbor View. I've attended since freshman year. I've come to find that the school is what you make of it. The teachers of the honors and AP classes are very helpful and go above and beyond for their students. Many take extra time out of their schedule for after school help, and really make an effort to get to know their students. However, most teachers tend to bash kids in regular, accelerated programs. The campus is always immaculately clean and decorated in posters. Arbor has lost of school spirit; there are always lots of people at the games and people walking around wearing our school mascot. As far as students go, most are kind and friendly, however most new students find it hard to fit in due to it's cliquey nature. The school also seems to base everything on popularity; student council is chosen more on how cool you are rather than your qualifications. Our sports teams are exceptional. Our football and soccer teams have won many competitions. The school offers a good amount of clubs that range from community service to anime. Our school isn't perfect, but I'm still proud to be an Aggie.
Arbor View is the most amazing high school ever!! It has excellent teachers, the best sport teams a great school spirit, it is super clean, it has like no fights, the students are really nice and help each other. No Freshmen Haters! &Teachers get respected and keep their students calm.
Arbor View High School is... Well to be honest, I have not attended it long enough to judge. I have thought the last three Schools I have attended we're fantastic, then to find out the next few years after having left that school. That there we're major issues with it. CCSD needs some serious work! I'm a freshman at AVHS, i am taking all honors classes, busting my butt to graduate with a Advanced Honors Diploma, and so far I have not had too many issues. I will say, that AVHS needs to be a little more lenient on some issues, and focus more on others. Teachers here are very open on their political views, and my opinion of this is, If your allowed to be open allow us students to be open as well. Allow us to have a civil debate. Most of my teachers i have care and are fantastic and are willing to help. The other students who attend AVHS are wonderful. I have not had any issues with any of them, and most of my class i have been going to school with since kindergarten. AVHS is a wonderful school. But it could use so improvement in some areas, and so less focusing on in others.
Arbor View is a horrible school. It is full of teachers that spend most of their time spreading rumors about parents and students. Very little teaching goes on. This school needs a new principal very badly.
Arbor View is one of the best schools in Las Vegas. With an education system like ours, Arbor View is doing quite well. My school is full of spirit, it's safe, clean, and filled with excellent athletes. Its only flaw is its teaching staff. If you're not in AP classes you're unimportant in a teachers eyes. The Honors students use to matter, but now they've slipped through the cracks.
I am currenlty a senior at Arbor View High School. I think Arbor View is great school to be in, I started Arbor View beginning of my freshmen year and leaving in my senior year and it was pleasure getting my education there. The teaching quality and the academic programs are good.
I am currently a senior at Arbor View and I think it is a great school overall. I understand some of the criticisms about teaching quality and things of that sort but people have to realize we live in NEVADA, a state ranked 50th in education. We don't have the money to hire qualified teachers but if you look you can find them. But if you really want a quality education you need to take honors and AP classes. Those are the classes where you will actually learn.
Safety is very good but the teaching is not. The teachers dont try to teach if the student doesnt try to learn they put all the failing students in the back and the passing students in the front.
I'm attending arbor view for my senior year and honestly as a new student, this school could be better. I highly suggest taking honors or ap classes, the teachers who teach those classes are much more nicer than the ones who teach normal classes. The students at the school aren't anything special and they don't cause much trouble, but they are like most kids, annoying. I really don't want to stay here and will probably drop out to attend virtual high school.
As a parent, this administration has been nothing but exceptional. They took time and listened. They really wanted the best for the student, and even took suggestions and feedback. They actually cared about my student. Congrats on a job well done.
