Which school to choose

Alright it's going to sound sort of contradictory and strange but just go with it.

I'm coming from an area that is very strict on its rules. A couple situations are 2 hour detentions (there are 4 hour detentions btw) for skipping a 2 minute class and taking a 3 day suspension for splashing some water on somebody. If this helps you better understand my plea then good.

I need a school that bends the rules every now and then, that isn't zero tolerance, that lets the kids hang loose and relax. But to the point to where it isn't dangerous (guns gangs etc) like I've heard east side is.

I'm looking west side around Summerlin and in particular Palo Verde. Does this school have a decent education system (I don't really care), cool people, and teachers that turn their cheek on small things. I know you say worry about your future but I need you to assume that I have that covered because I do. What is Palo Verde like?

I don't think Palo Verde would be a good fit for you. Maybe you should consider a Scared Straight Program or a military camp (as suggested by MagnetMom).

Hi Jimbo42,

Start here: http://www.greatschools.org/cities.page?all=1&city=Las+Vegas&includeState=1&order=alpha&state=NV

Then find Summerlin and look for schools in that area. You can read parent reviews and even the Official School Profile which will help you get an idea if you're looking at a school or a military camp.

Good luck!
