I have been very happy with Findlay Middle School's staff and programs. My son has had a wonderful Middle School experience. I believe success starts at home and you can be well educated with family and teacher support no matter what school you attend. I've been grateful to the teachers in there dedication to the children and quick response to any concerns I have had.

I used to be a student at this school for a year (6th) and I could BARELY deal with the painful aggression that the teachers had. I went to 7th grade and my teachers were just like the 6th.. No sympathy for the students. Misleading grades, and worst of all.. complete morons. This school, I dreadfully hated. My english and history teachers were the worst of 7th grade. My reading and math teachers I HATED in 6th grade. I only liked one or two teachers from that school, my chorus teacher, and english teacher of 6th grade. That was it, everything else I have hated. When mid-October 2008 came around, my teachers hated me for missing just one day of school. They also think "Family Vacation" is not a good excuse for leaving a day of school. I never got expelled, but I sure pulled myself from that school and went right to homeschooling. I now have a chance of making something better of myself. The homechool I go to is a lot more child/teenager friendly. I recommend not to bring yourself to that school if you want to save yourself the trouble. Because every day after lunch, I would ALWAYS see people beating each other up.

One of the *worst* Middle Schools ever! My daughter's gone to Findlay for 3 yrs. What a joke! They'll push your child through each grade no matter how bad they're failing. Teachers @ Findlay can't handle anything less than the "the perfect student" & it shows in their angry phone calls and conferences filled with their distain & irritation at your less than academically perfect child. My daughter is now 3 YEARS behind scholastically, went from liking school to hating it altogether & now, they're ready to push her through to High School after I've *repeatedly* asked them to hold her back to give her a chance to catch up. It all falls on deaf ears. My *daughter* even told me she's not ready for High School because she's so far behind and in over her head. And... NV educators (& parents) sit and scratch their heads in wonder at why Nevada is not only the #1 state in the Nation with the highest High School drop out rates but, Las Vegas is the #1 city as well! Findlay has set my daughter up for failure for 3 yrs with their words & actionsn & has now soured her outlook on school altogether. Shame on them!! FIND A CHARTER SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILDREN IF YOU CAN!!!!

My son is a seventh grader at Findlay. AS for the teachers of this school most seem to sincerely care and to give all the efforts towards our children's education, but they like the children are hindered by dress codes, faculty and administration. The school itself seems to care more about the appearance and noise level of the children then their education. As for the dean that I have to work with I find that he could use a few lessons in how to neutralize a situation instead of dominate it. Overall I'm sad to say my son will have to attend this school next year, hopefully they can fix some of their administration problems by then.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with the administration in this school. This school does not care about the children, or educatiion. They put blame on the children, and try to make it seam like the children are bad. In reality the teachers and administrators are to blame for the failing in this school.

Horrible school! I DO NOT reccommend this school. The staff is rude, and unorganized. I had a 6th grader at this school and I do realize he was a little bit of a trouble maker but the dean at this school would suspend him and send him home without even contacting me. Teachers and all staff do not care about the childrens well being. Kids are failing when the parents call the teachers in order to find out what the kids are doing wrong our phone calls never get returned. Every time I have come to this school I see a line of kids waiting in the deans office. This school is horrible and my child will not come back. I am moving out of my house just to get my child out of this horrible school.

I am sorry but this school is not very good. I am pushed around in the hallways and stepped on when in my locker. I am sometimes late because we always have to go one way. If we have a class left to us that is our next period then we have to go all the way around and sometimes we will be late. Kids don't be quiet when a teacher tells us to hush. Our teachers have low patience, the food tastes horrible, and dress code has to be exact. Not to light, Not to light, and no stains. Try no to send your kid here.

My daughter went to this school from 6th to 8th grade. I don't have any complaint she did very well there. She had no academic problems. There were some kids who have discipline problems but if your child knows how to avoid bad influences they will do well. She only complained about one teacher who didn't like her but like any other school there will be that teacher who doesn't like a student, I'm just glad she didn't take it out on her grades! Over all very satisfied with the school.

As a teacher at Findlay, I arirve everyday at 6:00 am to prepare for the day and leave around 5pm exhausted. I spend at least an hour each night trying to contact parents by phone concerning their children's academic and /or behavioral issues. Most of the time, I am uanable to reach them nor do they return my calls. Many of my students come to class each day without paper and pencil and homework. Much of the class time is spent on discipline- just trying to maintain order so I can teach. Most of Findlay students treat school like a joke and only see it as a avenue to socializing. This is my 2nd year at Findlay and my last. I am suppose to teach not police, but that's how I spend most of my time. Findlay needs to eliminate the students who don't want an education.
