The academic's are not the best, but the people are great, I love it. I recently moved from Texas, and I was treated like a worthless piece of crap there. This place is great, I never wan't to leave. I favor happiness over strict academics.

I absolutely love the school. It's wonderful and people are very friendly and welcoming especially the staff. Their always kind and attentive to the students well being. They have very many sports offered such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, wrestling, track and field. Also many electives to choose from including an award winning band and strings group. Lead by award winning teacher Jose Flores. Although the school's CRT test results are not as high as other schools such as Swope or Billinghurst the students and staff in the school are as close as family. Always helping others.

I think Vaughn is a great Middle School. It has a great administriation that is organized and is good at informing parents of everything happening at the school. TEachers are happy working there. Academics have improved since my oldest child went to this school and the Availablity of after school, sports and music programs are phenominal. The staff is very supportive and innovative and open to trying new methods of instruction. There is much parent involvement at sporting events, music events and other activities at the school. It may be a bit overcrowded in the classroom but the administration does an excellent job of handling it.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Nevada used the Criterion Referenced Test (CRT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 5 and 8 in science. The CRT is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Nevada. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
