I had gone to Galena for most of my junior year and I tought it was the best school. I have been to two other schools and this by far was the best school that I have been to. I had gone to elementry and middle school with most of the students so there wasn't much social change. I thought that the teachers were great and expected more out of its students than other schools. There was a large amount of pride in the community. There was a very limited amount of violence in the school. Over all I think that this is the best school in Washoe County.

I am a student at Galena High School and I hated it. I was a new student in the middle of the year and found many other new people to hang out with. I loved all of my teachers and I would have stayed there if i didnt get invited to sex, drug, and drinking parties. The students were the only problem that i saw with the school. I didnt feel safe when i walked up to the building. Over all a 1 star rating. I liked the teachers and counclers, The students are a whole different story.

My son attends this school and so far things are going well. However, my husband and I contribute financially to the sports programs. I have noticed a cast system. If you don't have money, you aren't treated as well. I am lucky to be fortunate, however, I don't feel this should be a standard for the treatment and education of children.

I love Galena. My son attends the school and loves it as well. I like the fact that I can go down there and talk to any of his teachers pretty much any time. I hear a lot of people complaining because they feel athletes are treated differently. My son didn't play sports freshman year and does now. He isn't treated any differently, he still has the same work and the same discipline as he did as a freshman.

I am a student at Galena, and I love this school. The teaching staff is amazing, and fun and really creative. Im an honors student here and i believe that i am getting a solid education here. Yes, school sports is a huge part of Galena, but its like that at every school. Galena puts out so much effort into academics, and i believe that im getting an amazing education. The administration is tough, but they dont baby us, the care for us and help us reach our goals. Galena High is a great school, and by far has one of the best reputations in northern nevada.

i play sports for galena and that part of the school is great like the person underneath me said half of my teachers were very lazy and like 3 administrators are very rude but i love galena and would go know were else

I have attended galena for two years now, and I do not like it at all. The majority of the teachers have this philosophy that all they need to do is pass out worksheets and not even teach, or teach for half the class and let you sit there for the next hour or so doing absolutly nothing. I would only recommend this school to someone who wants to be very involved in school sports becasue that is pretty much the only thing that stands out to any of the administrators. No matter how intelligent you are, they put too much pride into the athletics department. The administrators are rude and irritable almost everyday. I would recommend attending a charter school, or online high school if you are not involved to attached to the school activities outside of school.

This school is excellent, my kids go here and we love it. There is so much school spirit, even with the teachers, and administration. Every school function you will see many of them attending. The Orchestra program is top notch, Mr. Munc runs this program with pride. You can't find a better high school in Reno!

i love galena high school. i just started and i already love it! it is so amazing and so are the teachers. there IS discipline, and the dress code IS NOT ignored trust me....so im just happy to be going here.
