My child transitioned from Alton Central School, a k-8th grade school, to PMHS and he absolutely LOVES PMHS! It's a fairly small school with excellent teachers who genuinely care for the children and provide every opportunity for kids to stay after school if they need additional help. The school has many clubs which include World Culture Club, Robotics, and most common athletic teams. They have a big ski team. The Bass Fishing Team which won 1st in the state. This school DOES NOT have a football team. It's hard to believe but NO FOOTBALL TEAM, so they recently developed a fall "Homecoming" for the sake of the students. If kids want to play football I've heard kids can travel to Kingswood High School in Wolfeboro NH and play there but I don't know of anyone who has done this. I see my child attending school, happy with great friends and 5 As and 2 B grades that where 89% for the entire year. He gets up eager to go to school, likes to stay after when he needs help, has never complained of anyone bullying or any other disturbing issues and he missed only 3 days of school for doctor or dental appointments. I'd rate this school a 8/10. I'd say 10/10 if I knew test scores for all.

PMHS is over rated with poor leadership and no accountability. When are the people of Alton and Barnstead going to expect more for what they are paying.

I am a junior at Prospect Mountain and it is the best school I have ever been to. I've been in five schools since kindergarten and this one is by far the best. The teachers are great and they actually care about our individual needs as well as the class as a whole. The principle and vice-principle are great guys with good senses of humor. They can be strict, but they are always fair.

i have been in Prospect mountain high for two years now, and it is the best time i have ever had in school. the teachers arent just there to get payed, they care about what happpens to their students, and do everything they can to make sure you succeed. the reason i am posting this review is because i know that people who read it want to know the whole truth of what this school is really worth, and i think i am very qualified to tell you. i have been inover 14 school in 6 states. my family has to move a lot for my mother's work, and i can honestly say this is the absolute best school i have ever attended. not only are the teachers great but the studentys are too. i made friends on the first day, Prospect Mountian really is amazing.

Prospect Mountain High School offers superb academic programs. There are a number of AP courses available for students to take as well as a wide range of other course offerings. The music and art programs are outstanding. Many PMHS students have received distinguished awards in Art and Music. There are many clubs and activities for students to participate in spanning many areas of interest including NHIAA athletics, outing club, yearbook, Controlling Our Own Lives (COOL), drama club, hockey club and lacrosse club. Parents have many opportunities to be involved at PMHS. There is an active booster club and Parent Teacher Student Assocation (PTSA). There are also parent nights, an academic night and other social opportunities in which parents can participate.
