If your child gets in trouble once say goodbye to HA. Also the tuition prices keep on growing. The kids can be snobs and the parents are worse. HA is the same as any good public school and have average test score. Do not send your kid here.
Hampstead Academy is a fantastic school with excellent teachers, a wonderful and diverse curriculum and very friendly student body. The art, drama, spanish and science programs are world class. My daughter can't wait to get out of bed in the morning and get to school in the morning. I strongly recommend this program for parents who want to offer the best education availabe for their children
Way overrated!!!! Just a big waste of money. It is just a small little nothing school. We are sending the kids to Pike.
Small class size and attention to detail. They really got to know what made my son enthusiastic and they worked well with his personality traits. Individual attention is tailored to your child and that is a super plus to me.
The teachers my child has had to this point are wonderful. I could not ask for more. They have given my child a true love of learning and quest for knowledge.
As a parent of a child who attended HA and transferred to another private school in MA, I am glad we made the move. The small ratio and nice teachers are a plus at HA and beats the public schools in nh, but this is also found in most other private schools. A positive parent culture (very one-up atmosphere) and warm, friendly leadership is lacking at HA. While HA teachers know individual children well with the small ratio, I didn't see any evidence of teaching to an individual child at HA in the class..in fact the whole class learned the same content and read/wrote with same materials and used the same instructional methods regardless of individual learning style/levels. Overall, its ok if you only have public school as a choice and you want a smaller classroom environment, but I would shop around to different private school options if possible.
If you like spending money for the same education you can get at a GOOD pulic school then Hampstead is the place for you. Depending on how many teacher they let go this year will make the difference if I stay or leave. Music is getting MUCH better and one-on-one math time should be increased.
I am extremely pleased with many things, among them being the sense of community, the dedication to each student's well-being, the teachers' openness and accessibility, the level of integration within the curriculum.
I loved! this school. i a recently graduated and I miss it so much! It really is a great big family.
This nurturing atmosphere sets the stage not only for optimal learning to occur but also growth in peer relationships, self-awareness and self-confidence for all who attend the school.
Too over protective. The teachers are a bit too strict & the education is less than average. The public schools are better. Hampstead keeps growing the cost.
'Educating the Whole Child' is what makes hampstead academy a great school. The teachers address the needs and talents of each child by offering drama, music, sports, art, chinese, latin, spanish, ... but the emphasis on math and science is what has impressed me most of all. Each class in involved with a community service project and my child learned how to knit hats for children in a local shelter. The graduates are accepted into the schools of their choice. What a wonderful place to grow up.
Love the Drama and Music programs. Several years ago, the school offered Chinese and my son is enjoying it very much. He also takes Latin and Spanish. Many after school sports programs are being offered now including baseball, softball, cross country, basketball, golf, swimming and skiing. The school works to develop the whole child.
Hampstead Academy has been the best experience for my two children. The drama, music and art programs are exceptional. In comparison to other private schools, Hampstead Academy's tuition is affordable.
Our daughter attended HA for many years and although the teachers are great, the cost was phenomenal. Every year tuition increases and it just got too expensive. All the parents that I dealt with were nice but I only knew a few of them. I hope the school continues to grow but I hope it will go back to its educational roots rather then trying to be a profit making institution.
The teachers are very caring, knowledgeable and love sharing in the educatinal growth of your child. The schools continues to enchance the extracurriculum programs for the various interest of the cildren and due to family feedback.
Hampstead Academy is an excellent school for my daughter. This is our fourth year at the school. The teachers are great, the students are highly motivated, and the facilities are top notch. There is a nice mix of students from many surrounding towns. We love that there is a bus to and from Windham. I couldn't be more pleased.
My child has attended Hampstead Academy since nursery school and will go to third grade next September. The class size is very small - imagine ....16 children with 2 teachers in the classroom! The teachers are wonderful, caring and professional. Love the music, art, drama and science programs. Great school
Although I do have some concerns regarding the practical application of the philosphy HA preaches of teaching to the individual child - anyone that has a different learning style is somewhat on their own. Diversity is not the issue - particularly in the current K class. In fact, as far as the boys go, my average white, blue- eyed boy is in the minority!
We were disappointed with the school. Look closely at what their philosophy is and what they actually do in practice. Their class sizes are large in the upper school because they combine classes for math and other subjects so the actual teacher-student ratio is higher than actually reported to parents. The local public school kindergarten had a 16-1 student-teacher and Hampstead Academy had 26 kindergarteners!
