My daughter is in her second year and we couldn't be more pleased. Her four year old review is much better than mine. She always says, 'I want to live at the school, because it's so cool'. The nurturing and teaching is second to none.
I couldn't be more pleased with Hopkinton Independent. It is a rich, academic environment that practices a truly integrated approach to teaching and learning. The faculty and administrative staff are outstanding in every respect. They are committed to the success of each student both socially and academically, and the small class sizes enable them to dedicate the time and attention that each student needs. Curriculum themes span the entire school to create a collective learning and set of shared experiences from preschool through 8th grade. As a former educator, it is an absolute pleasure to see ideal practices implemented. My daughter loves Hopkinton Independent because of the setting, the faculty, the community and the learning opportunities. I couldn't recommend the school more highly.
My son is a preschooler at HIS and I must say that I am extremely satisfied with the school thus far. We researched all of the private schools in the area and decided on HIS primarily on the basis of the following three factors: First, the teachers truly have a passion for what they do and captivate the students with their teaching methods. For example, instead of only using a textbook to teach math concepts, a class will come up with an experiment such as determining how fast a sledder is going down a hill and actually go out and test it! Second, the students are very outgoing and polite. They intereact easily with their peers as well as adults. There is an environment of respect. Third, the attention that each child receives is unparralled due to the class size and philosophy of teaching. Each child is seen as an individual.
My two children have attended this school. Both recieved an excellent, nurturing education and both were extremely well prepared for highly academic programs upon graduation. Lovely setting, excellent teachers, great school community.
I had an amazing experience at the Hopkinton Independent School. The school is located on 60+ acres of land which are regularly used by teachers and students. Moreover, the school maintains a site in Deering, NH where students study wildlife and ecology. The class size is small allowing for individualized instruction. Every student is encouraged to explore and experiment. The students are provided with a learning environment that inspires creativity and nurtures the natural curiosity of children.
