Teacher quality
Principal leadership
Parent involvement
This school in my opinion is a joke; they have no nurse, the place is so old it looks like it might fall over and there's no extra-curricular activities. This place is highly unorganized and instead of having you child in a safe protected yard for recess they provide half a parking lot where syringes, nails, and glass is often found. On a different note if you are looking for a good school in such a location may i suggest Mt. Saint Mary academy on 2291 Elm St. That school truly provides a safe haven and they are truly generous. If you are having financial troubles i cannot guarantee but you might be able to get help. They treat your child like family and he will have a blast learning from what in my opinion is the best education possible in Manchester. If you are desperate i would even try Beech St. school. PS. the only reason i gave teacher quality and principal leadership a 1 is because I am assuming that's the lowest possible score.
As a parent, I am proud to say this little school is a safe haven for inner city kids and a place where education and faith really do meet. We have been sending our children there for 6 years and are very pleased. Academically our kids are excelling, and their faith is nurtured. I love the small classes and the responsibility the older kids have for the little ones, fostering responsibility and independence. The respect that the students show to the staff and to each-other is outstanding. And the tuition can't be beat! Please go visit this school and meet these great kids, teachers and the principle who has a true heart and desire to see this school thrive and for each child to reach their full God given potential! It's a must see!
I'll leave it at this, unlike the past ratings listed on here, I actually was a student. Not some teacher who works there that gets paid to fabricate to mess up your child's education... There were no sports. what kind of school doesn't have sports? Educationally they were behind the game. The teachers and principal, well, it was obvious working with kids just wasn't their goal in life... I can say this, because of this school, I understand the catholic religion so well.
It is an alright school the teachers are very nice but strict but they care about each one of us the school is not in a good neighborhood and the school looks a lot run down but it is nice the principal is very strict though but kinda nice great school when i went to st.anthonys i didnt like it at all but this school is better than there sad i will have to leave
I went to St. Casimir from 2nd to 8th grade and I excelled in high school along with all of my siblings that attended this school. My sister who graduated a few years ago takes AP classes now. They focus on the fundamentals. Sure there aren't a lot of extracurriculars and maybe they do lack some extra tools that could help the teachers, but it's a small catholic school. You're child will get attention not only from his teacher, but all the teachers. There were many large families when I attended because of the great discount, which I'm not sure they still have available. I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone that wants their child to get a good education and to learn the discipline to get a good education beyond this school.
I am a student now at St. Casimir and I absolutely love it! They have an after school program which is very fun. We have mass on special days like Ash Wednesday. The teachers and principal are very nice and caer for you. The school lunches are very yummy! The lunch lady is very nice. They have like mac&cheese and nachos, tacos, chicken nuggets and other yummy foods. On special days they might give you ice cream or cake or a cookie! (Possible: pie if the night before was pie and bingo night)=) Send your child there and they will love it!
My children go to this school and we are very happy. They are getting an excellent education. We like the small school experience and the close relationship all the students have with each other. My children love all the extra activities that are planned throughout the year (ice skating, tubing, field day, etc.). They Catholic faith is taught in a positive way. The kids are encouraged to grow in mind, body, and soul. They have prayer in the morning, lunch, and at the close of school. They celebrate special feast days and Holy day of obligations. Mass is celebrated at the school throughout the year. We love St. Casimir School!
I am a student at St. Casimir School, and I have ben here for 7 years. So far, my experience here has been terrible. The education in math and science. We on't get enough time to talk to our friends, since we can't talk during lunch, we have a ten minute morning recess, and a 15 minute afternoon recess. We don't get enough exercise, since we can't run uring recess and gum is canceled more than half the time. THere are barely any extracarricular activities. The music programs are very weak, so I wouldn't go here for music. If you are looking for a school to send your kid(s) to, I wouldn't send them here.
This school could give better backround in math and science, especially in 7th and 8th grades. they should put their money towards supplies that that need and not towards unneeded things. thay should get better teachers too!
I am very pleased with this school. I am currently attending it. The teachers are very caring and respectful. I love my teacher as My brother does his.
My step child attends this school. I can only compare to the public school my other child attends. This school has very limited resources, no extracurriculars and is very outdated academically. I am concerned students will not be be adequately prepared high school. Teachers are caring but few if any have advanced degrees and there are no male teachers. I wonder why parents are willing to pay for a sub standard education unless religion is the main reason. Manners, discipline and respect are important but can and should be taught at home. This school needs to do a better job preparing kids for real life and the competition they will face in high school.
I attended this school from 1977 thru 1986. I still have family members attending today, and had family members attending 50 years ago. This is the best small Catholic school in Manchester. They are an old fashioned institution, where discipline, good manners & respect are taught in a nurturing academic environment. The one thing I would change about this school is the blighted neighborhood it finds itself in today.
This school is weak academically and behind the times technically. The curriculum probably hasn't been updated in 30 years. No sports, clubs, and hardly any extra curricular activities. Weak gym, art & music programs. It does provide a family atmosphere but does not adequately prepare students for high school.
I attended this school from grades K-8 and it was the most miserable experience of my life. Most of the teachers have a hard time teaching students a broad variety of subjects. For example, the math and science programs are always a weakness for the teachers. Students are never really given a strong background for when they enter high school. They offer barely any extracurricular activities and those that are offered are weak and unstructured. I would only recommend this school for the grades K-3, after that the curriculum starts to deteriorate.
I have three children attending this school. They are in 2nd grade, 6th grade and 8th grade. I don't have enough good things to say about this school. The teachers care about their students and are very involved. The school offers variety of classes including art, music and Spanish. I just don't know how they do it will their limited resources. This school offers great parent teacher interaction. The class sizes are no more than 25, as a matter of fact my middle child's class has only 13 kids. I would recommend this school to anyone who cares about their child's education.
