We encourage all Kimball Union parents to join our on-line community in order to take full advantage of the many features it has to offer.
Kimball Union believes in working in close partnership with parents to promote the best possible experience for our students and to ensure that our expectations are aligned.
PARENT OUTREACH PROGRAMS:
Parents’ Association – The mission of the Parents' Association is to support the parents, students, faculty, and staff at KUA. All parents are members of the Parents' Association. We urge parents to participate in any and all events that will benefit them and their children, and to volunteer to assist the Parents' Association as their time and interests permit. Opportunites to participate throughout the school year.
Friend of KUA Network – Parents can volunteer to assist in reaching out to prospective families and share their KUA knowledge and experiences with them. There are a variety of ways to help that take a 1-2 hour commitment spread throughout the year:
• Phone calls to interested families to answer questions during Admission process.
• Join Admissions staff at local school fairs to “meet and greet” prospective families.
• Host receptions in your area for local students and their families.
Open House – We have 2 Open Houses (Late October and early November) that we love current parents to be at to welcome prospective families. They are typically held from 9-10:30am.
International Student Host Family Program – he host family would provide a home-away-from-home if they are here before school opens or after school closes.
CAMPUS SERVICE PROGRAMS:
Exam Treats – During each exam week, KUA Parents surprise students with little bags of treats in their mail boxes to wish them well.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT COMMITTEES:
Annual Giving Committee – Each class has a committee of volunteers who contact fellow parents to solicit gifts in support of the school’s operating budget. This is a particularly good volunteer opportunity for parents who are unable to participate in on-campus activities as the work is done on your own time from home. Parent volunteer support in recent years has enabled KUA to celebrate strong participation rates.
Senior Parent Gift Committee – The members of the Senior Parent Gift (SPG) Committee serve as advocates for the Senior Parent Gift.
The SPG is an important contribution to KUA that parents make in honor of their child’s graduation from KUA.
