My child attended this school from kindergarten through Junior High. When we relocated he was so behind in math even though in Moultonborough he was a A student. His new school tutored him after school and we put him in a Sylvan program to fill in the blank spots that he was missing from the elementary math curriculum. His older siblings did well in the Academy but the tendency of the school is to aim for in state colleges. The staff at the Academy spends a great deal of time policing the students and there is also small town mentality with a tad of preference to locals. Funding is definitely allocated where ever the principal wants (does ap math have books yet)? Moultonborough was a great school ten years ago but how knows what happened. Unions?

Standardized test scores are pretty average. Class rigor is somewhat above average. Most teachers are pretty good but a couple are abysmal. The food is pretty bad but the school is clean for the most part. Athletics are very good, but funding isn't allocated equally. Some sports teams always have the nicest, cleanest uniforms while others have cheap, stained uniforms. Also, the administration can be pretty anal and the vice principal constantly patrols the halls and intercepts students like she has nothing better to do. The principal is pretty cool though. As I mentioned before, money isn't always used as best as it could be. They just paid several thousand dollars to landscape the front of the school and put a statue that looks like a gravestone there. Now us kids can't play catch or frisbee in front of the school anymore.

I am a student and i think it is awesome everyone is involved in everything yes you have your typical problems however thet are addressed and taken care of immediately by parents and staff together love it here

I'm a student here and I have to say it's not as great as they make it out to be. Sure, it has high standards, but it relies on the ambition and knowledge given by the parents rather than exceptional teaching from the school. They basically give you average difficulty assignments, and then praise themselves when half the class gets As because they are all externally driven 4.0 plussers. I'm disappointed, it's not what it's cracked up to be. My parents paid a lot for tuition too, about 14 grand.
