My son loves the school and the learning environment provided by the faculty. No complain whatsoever from our family

This school is only good if you are in the high honors classes. They have fights everyday and the kids that are brought in from Trenton do not care about education but bring the problems Trenton has to Allentown. Too many teachers have tenure that should be fired! All the problems are being swept under the rug and kept out of the papers. Go to private school if you have the money unfortunately I don't.

Allentown is a school on the rise, with the amount of classes being added and the teachers being brought in, AHS will be highly regarded within the next few years.

My son is in the honors track and seems very happy. He enjoys his teachers, the classes are relatively small (around 18 students). I agree that while many teachers have a rigorous curriculum, there is some room for improvement. The school keeps adding AP courses. The guidance department is very responsive, and the new superintendent has ambitious plans and lots of energy. Allentown is smaller than lots of the neighboring public high schools, and I see this as an advantage. I don't love the block scheduling, but there is block scheduling in college also. I judge the school by the energy, spirit and ambitions of the staff and students. So far our experience is very positive.

I am disappointed the Honors teachers don't do more to challenge the students varied learning styles....My child's experience seemed just 'faster paced' than regular tracked classes. Same material...quicker pace....little else differentiated the two tracks....What a shame!

Allentown High School offers many courses. The teachers are very dedicated and supportive. My child is very well informed regarding college choices and they work with you every step of the way to help you gain admission to the college of your choice. I am very satisfied with this school.

The quality of the academic programs seems to be pretty good. They have many electives and encourage diversity with after school clubs and organizations. The music program is top notch with award winning bands and choirs. Sports are not too strong. They have the basic sports and are not usually high in winning in their divisions. Parent involvement is encouraged and there seems to be a fair amount of parents that actually do get involved.
