William Annin Middle School

We moved to this district almost 2 years ago. This middle school is amazing. 2 periods per day devoted to 'Language Arts' -- one specific to Communications Arts an one to English. Cycle (i.e., electives) are amazing. Computers, robotics, cooking, art, photography, more. Online access to all grades and h/w assignments. Everyone wants the kids to succeed; no one is overlooked. Clubs and sports after school if you want them. Latin, Japanese, Italian, Spanish and French offered too. Kids too advanced for the math curriculum are sent to the high school for their class. What more can you ask for?

I believe William Annin is a great Middle School to attend. There is such a variety of of after school clubs, teaching techniques, and electives, that a student really does enjoy school. The staff tries to keep a safe and happy environment for the students, and are always concerned. William Annin is great!

the teachersw are awsome at this school but the racial thing is really big here. like if ur a different race other then caucasian u get made off thats one of the reasons i dont like this school and espacilly african american population in the school there are very very few africans and the ones there are always get singled out or there names get mixed up by teachers

My child entered Middle school totally unprepared.In just a year, I see such a remarkable change in her focus at school and all the extracurricular activities.Terrific teachers and the administration does a fabulous job as well.

I moved into the district this year, and this middle school is amazing. Rules keep the kids inline so disruptions do not get in the way of teaching. Teachers are clear and organized; many use the web to post assignments and all are quickly accessible by e*mail. They're always available for extra help too. The principal is a great speaker at PTO meetings; he is helpful and approachable. Everyone is concerned for the whole child. It is a welcoming and nurturing environment.

William Annin Middle School provides a great atmosphere where students can thrive. As a 7th grader at WAMS, I acknoledge the fact that WAMS offers various extra-curricular activities. Students can attend the chess club, the Asian culture club, and the many language clubs. If a students needs an extra-help session, the homework club is always available. When students are assigned research projects the media center offers eclectic sources to gather information from. Students can excel at anything they please with hard work and dedication. William Annin has one of the best sports teams of any middle school in New Jersey. Few schools can boast of academic excellence as well as achievement in a variety of sports. These many factors have led me to the conclusion that it is a privelege to attend such a great school.

My son is a 6th grader at WAMS. In general, I think this is a fairly good school. However, it is very large and impersonal. I would also agree with an earlier comment that there is a lot of bullying that goes unchecked. Most of the teachers seem to be pretty good - my son's English teacher is fabulous.

My son is in the 6th grade at William Annin and the academics are amazing. My one concern is that there is a lot of bullying that goes on that is not dealt with by the teachers or faculty. In today's day and age, you would not expect this at a school of this stature but it continues to go on. The principle is very inactive in the school but I agree with the earlier comments from a parent that the assistant principles and teachers do make up for this.

This school is very large. It is very impersonal. They separate neighborhood shildren into different schools. The elite and the needed receive all the resources. The average student is left to their own survival skills.

I fell this school is one of the best schools around. The teacher's do not miss a beat. They are there for the kids all of the time. I can go into the school ( of 500+ 7th graders alone)to find them knowing where my son is, and which hallway he will be walking down at the change of class without looking it up. I find that amazing. It really is a hands on school. I love how all of the parents are very involved. The teachers and staff provide so many opportunities for the kids and strict discipline.
