Blair Academy

As a parent of a recent Blair graduate, I give this school the highest rating. The faculty worked hard to bring out all his talents and offer him leadership opportunities. Most independent schools will tell you that they do this, but many do not. It's a great school from the Headmaster on down. There are too many good things to say. If you are looking for a boarding school that offers top academics, a beautiful campus, and a caring community, take a look at Blair.

My time at Blair was the most important and transformational of my life. I developed critical thinking, writing skills, and thrived in a demanding yet nurturing academic community. I went from Blair to a prestigious college, medical school and finally residency at the Mayo Clinic where I remain on staff. Blair remains the most impressive educational institution I have been associated with and it changed my life for the better. I graduated in 1984 and I remain very involved with the school today. I love this amazing school.

I am so sad that my son is graduating this year, I cannot say enough great things about his time at Blair and how nice, friendly and nurturing the atmosphere is there. Students there are very personable, and confident.

Blair Academy is an excellent boarding school with an engaging, involved, nurturing faculty. The facilities are impressive with a new athletic center, student center and college counseiing services. A stellar place, nestled within the small, quaint town of Blairstown, New Jersey, where sdents can be involved in many different sports, clubs and academics.

I recently graduated from Blair. It was the best four years of my life. I made the best friends I've ever had and had close relationships with many teachers. I am actually still shocked when I think about how many great people went to school there. I have never encountered a more accepting group of people, and I remember being shocked as a freshman because my middle school was filled with cliques and hierarchies that I never really had to deal with at Blair. I also found myself well prepared for college and am doing very well now.

My daughter is a sophomore (second year) and is having a great experience. The faculty, students and headmaster are all very happy being there. The teachers welcome the students to their homes to help with homework or clarify a lesson. They have dinner with the teachers as well. The sports are excellent. My daughter plays in three varsity sports and loves all of them. We live on the West Coast and worried about the distance but she is so happy she is never homesick.

My child is a freshman boarding student. It has exceeded all of our expectations. The teachers know and care about our child. Teachers go to school plays and sporting events. They are like family. My child's writing has improved dramatically in a very short time. We are very pleased. She is so incredibly happy here. It is a great school that is also quite fun.

I have sent 3 children to this school and I recommend it highly. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are excellent. The well rounded program includes excellent offerings in the arts and athletics, including a 9 hole golf course. There are clubs for every interest including community involvement. The strong academic program and structured environment and the superior teaching staff make this an excellent school. The dedicated administration and faculty are very involved with the students; Blair becomes family. In addition, parents are highly encouraged to be involved on many levels and are in close communication with staff. The school fosters the values of honesty and integrity, and leadership. My kids came out of Blair as knowledgable, thinking, and caring people, very prepared to face college and the world. They have made many friends that I expect they will be close with for all their lives.
