I graduated in 2008 from Bogota high it's very easy to cut class there and to get away with stuff. No security there. Work is easy. Teachers can be mean and get away with it. Most kids are encouraged to just attend Bergen instead of aspiring for anything more. Not enough extracurricular activities for students I wish there would've been better field trips.

Small school-teachers are fickle and show favoritism towards certain kids. Unusual grading system, kids seem behind the national average academically. Homework is easy and very little. What is given is not graded properly. They basically pass kids along just to get them out of the grade. Rules are subjective based on whether they like a kid or not. I personally know a kid who is not a great reader nor do they try academically, they are chronically late and have numerous absences, yet this kid made the principal honor roll - I rest my case. If you can live in another district, PLEASE DO SO - just don't make it Teaneck. That school should be shut down!

Although it is a small school, the faculty, administrators, parents and community rally around each and every child in our school system. Hilary Clinton said that it takes a village to raise a child. Well, we in Bogota's Borough are the epitome of that statement!

My son is a junior in BHS. I am not very happy with the school. I think it is too easy for the children to slack off in their work. My son never comes home with any homework, yet his report card is good. He says he does it in school which means there is not very much work given. The only reason I send him to this school is because I can't afford private or afford to move to a town with a better school system. Hopefully by the time my younger son is ready for high school I can send him to a better school system. I definitely don't think BHS prepares the children for college.

I just moved to Bogota since Aug. my daughter attends 7 grade, so far the school is fairly good, my daughter says she's learning on certain subjects, of course is math but thank goodness that there is remedial help after school which benefits her, so overall it's a good school.

I live in Bogota now and am currently looking to move. The school system is horrible. They do not offer that many sports for children and extra curricular activities either. I went to Bogota High school 12 years ago and since then it has changed even more for the worse.

My child has achieved at the highest academic levels and is being challenged. The district has started to rebound from several years of mismangement and actual imcompetence. The current principal has steadied the ship and has the school moving forward despite being given one of the worst staring points imaginable. The key for the district is maintaining stability by keeping the administration in place. The music department can be matched with any school in the county. The music teachers do an incredible job and are models for what can be accomplished. The people who are happy with the system and the results their children have achieved are not nearly vocal enough. The parents involvement is good but probably more to do with the extracurricular activities.

I am familiar with all aspects of the school also having graduated some 15+ yrs ago.I also have an honor roll student and do not feel they would fair well against honor roll students from various other schools. But I am far more disappointed in the Administration of the school. Is this what Bogota needs.I have heard several instances where the Administration has faultered in their attempts at disipline and parental issues.I feel it is time to either start fresh or close down.A parent who needs to seek help from them is in trouble.

Bogota High School has had a major change within the last year. The leadership is now there and the academic programs have improved. Very happy with Bogota High School for my child who is on the Honor Roll.
