My family reclocated to the Brick area 2 years ago. After reseaching the schools in Brick on this website we decided that the Midsteams section seemed like the best place to live. We have been very happy with the Teachers and the PTO really goes above and beyond! We've made some great friends as well. Very happy with our choice!
My daughter is in second grade at Midstreams and is doing very well. I love the teachers and I think our new principal is doing a great job so far. Our PTA really goes above and beyond to raise money for the school. I am very happy with this school!
I think this is a fine school, my children have enjoyed it and the teachers are very good!
My two children attended Midstreams, and we were always pleased with their teachers and support staff.
This school treats kids like numbers, no community feel at all. No activities. No summer programs.
My daughter recently completed 3rd grade at Midstreams. It was her first year in the school after we moved from a northern NJ town. We found the instruction level to be on par with the better schools in the state. The children, parents, and faculty were pleasant and accepting which helped in transitioning our child to a new school. I felt there was general feeling of concern for the children's well being as well as their education. The only drawbacks are the dated facilities and lack of extra programs.
My eldest daughter has completed grade 3 and is now in grade 4. Based on her experience, teaching staff is excellent, and caring. School recently introduced mobile computer units, largely funded by the active PTO. But since it is the oldest elementary school in the township, the classrooms are small and some facilities are limited.
I have 2 children in the school- 2nd and 4th grades. Together my children have had 6 different teachers. All had great acedemic impacts on my kids, some more than others, but all great in one way or another. As far as parent involvement- I work full time, many nights and can not make the PTO meetings, yet I am involved in the school as much as I can. I don't think we would have been able to raise over $30K for technology improvents with just a 'few select' people involved with the school. The extracirricular activities for grammer schools in general are limited, but then again I am not sure if I would want my little kids involed in after school activities at their age and without my presence. I believe it is a great school not just for learning but for the whole well being of the kids.
I am disappointed in the overall impact of the school. I have a first grader and I am not happy with the academics or the overall climate. From the top down, there is not a nice, happy, feeling.
I have 2 children who attend Midstreams. One son has just completed his fourth year, and my other has just completed his second. My experience has been great in every respect. I find the teachers to be caring and concerned about the students success, and aware of areas where they may need additional assistance. A parent can always be involved in their childrens success. It is up to the parent to request communication with their teacher regarding any concerns they may have. I have never been rejected this opportunity and have always had terrific results when we work together to better our childrens educational experience.
