Superb learning experience, good teachers, sports. Even though taxes are up, many teachers try to make it fun but still manage to keep the price cheap.

Nice teachers, always helping you whenever you need it the most. My English teacher even helped me boost my grade from a 55 to a 95.

As we all have learned money does not make a school better. Taxes are up especially for waterfront homes, traffic lights are bringing in 7 figures but our schools are declining in NJ Monthly Magazine rating for Ocean County. The mayor needs to step up and solve the problem. Our home values are declining because of the bad high school ratings. Having a mantra of "Thank God for Lakewood" is not the right approach (as they are the only school ranked lower than ours in Ocean County).

This school is a good school if your child is gifted and able to take honors or AP classes. As for the regular ed college prep courses, they are over crowded and most teachers are in it for only a paycheck. Discipline is a big concern of the administration, all students are considered guilty until proven innocent. I have three children who have attended BMHS, one in AP classes who thrived in small classes with caring teachers who were always available. The second who is a regular Ed. student in college prep classes, he was just a number and pushed like cattle through a large crowded school system. The youngest needed special ed. help and we had to literally fight district every year in order to get him the help he needed. It's a shame that a NJ public school district would try to deny children a solid education.

My daughter is a recent graduate of Brick Memorial High School. I feel she received an excellent education and she is going on to a highly selective four year college. She was offered many outside scholarships and this is partly attributed to the education she received at Brick Memorial. She took honors courses and her teachers were dedicated and challenged their students. She was also very active in many great school clubs and activities.

BTMHS is a great school. My son is a Sophomore and he is an honor student and an athlete. I feel that it isn't all up to the school it is also up to the parents and the student to make a school work for them. My son is in an Advance Placement class this year and it is honestly like a College Course. Because my son is involved in other sports and activities he stays focused. The teachers are always there for him and have always gotten back to me with any concerns. My son is getting a quality Education at BTMHS.

I have been grateful to have my son(graduating this year) in a school where the focus is on education. The teachers are never to busy to speak to the parent, or give the child extra help when needed. It's a pleasure when you call or go to the school and you barely get the first name of the child out and they know exactly who you want and what they like to be called if they have a nickname(and that includes the kids that aren't getting into trouble all the time). This is high school, and just like the world we live in, things are not always going to be perfect, and there might even be some things we're going to dislike from time to time.

This school is a joke! There is so many children and I feel its very easy for a student to get overlooked. Teachers dont go the extra mile to help. Parents are not contacted by the teachers when a student is starting to have problems. The school doent even contact you when your child is absent.

I was shocked at the scores given here. Both of my kids attended, with the last being a Senior in 2007.I have found BMHS to be a safe and quality learning environment. The teachers are more than fair and there is a surplus of gifted teachers. Both kids are going onto top colleges and their experiences here attributed to that. The sports are tough but good and the band is wonderful. The drama dept was equally good.I have found all my interactions with the school staff to be above average.I was pleased with the experience here and would have fought to not send my kids to Brick Township High. They have some problems over there.I think the student body here,as a whole,is a typical representation of the population for both college and the real world.Of course it's HS & that means drama, drama, drama but that's normal,we all had that.I've never been concerned about safety.1 boy 1 girl

Great school with great teachers, athletic programs are very good as well as extracurricular activities. Parent involvement is high in athletic programs. Plus Brick is a very safe city to live as it is in the top 5 safest cities in the nation.
