This school teaches to the test. The bar is raised so high that most of the families hire private tutors just for their kids to keep up. And thus, the test scores look so good. If your child is middle of the road (especially boys) he will end up turned off to learning, have low self-esteem and hate school by the time he leaves for high school. Young children who enter in 5th grade are stressed out. There are some very good teachers but the 5th grade is not managed appropriately and the young kids suffer.

I am new this year, I just started 7th grade. The teachers help me out alot and i understand things so much better. Also the other students are nice to me.

My daughter just finished her fifth grade year and it was fantastic. The new principal is fabulous, involved, and has a no-nonsense approach that keeps the kids in line, but is very caring. Language Arts, math, science all very strong. The district is led by a dynamic, involved and intelligent superintendent. You could not ask for more from a public middle school.

This school is an overall very nice, acedemically well rounded school. Besides the art department, Mr. Geisel is a very good principal and the teachers are good. The 8th grade social studies teacher is outstanding.
