I was very impressed to find out that the PPEG program (Enrichment Program for the Gifted Students) had an increase of 50% this academic year under the guidance of Mrs. Dee Bosch for the entire district. If this isn't one of the most compelling pieces of evidence of how great our schools are doing, I don't know what is.

The principle and staff are very involved and very helpful. The Child Study Team is very helpful and eager to help the parents and the kids. The guidance counselor is great too! The teachers can be tricky. As with any school it all depends on the teacher. There are some AMAZING teachers at HW. Ms. Nichols, Mr. Feehan, and Ms Phillips are all awesome!!! I have run into some teachers that do not love teaching kids and it shows (particularly in the first grade). As with all jobs some people are burnt out but continue to teach because of money. And the ones who suffer are the kids. Teaching is just one of those jobs that reveals the truth about how you feel about what you are doing...because the kids will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your true feelings!!!

This school is a pretty good school. The positive things I can say is the principle is very good, and very caring. The teachers are very good as well. The problems lie in the school itself and lack of funding. The building is old and in need of repairs and new items and technology. This school has almost no technology. Parents are very involved in this school.
