My son went to Minue School and now Carteret Middle School and has maintain his Honors. I heard so many bad things about the school that I was worried. 1 thing I like is that I can go online everyday and see my son s progress, grades, and email any of his teachers from there. I've met really nice teachers and my son was moved to an advance algebra class. Every semester the children with good grade get a breakfast to recognized them and give them their Honor Roll cert. I've know teachers that go early before school opens to help those kids having issues with subjects. I cannot speak for the past years but I know that so far for my 12 yrs old son is ok. My husband and I work, I've no need for after school program but My son went to the CASA program and for those kids that are good students and parents can t afford after school prgms is an advantage since It is for FREE unlike many schools out there that charge or State has cut funds and got rid of them. Education starts at home and it is reinforced at Home at the end of the day. No matter what school your kids go to make sure that your children know that you have an open communication with the teachers and that you are involve.

Unfortunately this school needs lot of improvements and an entire replacement of its school administrators.... First the so call CASA program is a complete fiasco (take it from a parent whose child attended this program) the core of the 21st CCLC program is excellent, but I don't think the CASA administrators are really following it. Second, not all the teachers seem to care about the kids and their progress... to top it off... some of them are 'texting' in the middle of the class when the number one rule in the school is 'no phones allowed'... therefore, what are we teaching our kids? That, it is ok to break the rules.... what can I answer to my child when I am prompted with the questions: why the teacher can text in the middle of the class? Third, their organization skills when it comes to activities that involve parent s participation are terrible.

i rate carteret middle school a low rate because the students are out of control. they seem to run the school. A example of this is the students uses fowl language and the teachers and administration don't discipline them for it.When in detention(i.s.s.) the students are allowed to laugh and talk with each other instead of being completely quiet and doing their work. Its like a party in there! Again, where is the discipline!! I could go on and on!!

Fantastic School now that Mrs Spiga is there and Mr Zimmer and Mr Sal are WONDERFUL Vice Principals. The over crowding is still an issue, but it does work. The childrens test scores have come up and the new teachers are wonderful. They really seem to get involved and try to help out the children who do struggle. My daughter will be attending there this year and my son just graduated and overall Great School and a TERRIFIC Administration. Lets hope to see more PARENTS INVOLVED this year with the FSO and all the dances. :-)

Even though I am just a student, i know what it was like for my parents. It's hard being a parent of a child in school. Like any school, you have to buy supplies. Maybe a bit more for cirtian classes (even in the same grade) depending on how fast a student levels up. I will admit, a lot of parents didn't get involved in this school, so the parents who did get involved had to do a little extra. Overall, the school has a good education system and good staff. (including the voluntary staff)

Overcrowding, lack of discipline, and lack of tuition. My child was bringing 'A' and some times 'B' home from school, when time came to the testing she past by 4 points the state test. That was here first poor test score. With another daughter I was studying math at home and she had scores in advanced proficiency. With reading it seams fine here. If I knew before about poor educational bases here, I won't be moving into town.

This school is out of control with the overcrowding. Teachers don't seem to care, and most students are very disrespectful.

The school is very limited in the drama dept. and sports as well. The overall population is so out of control that it's difficult to have organized events.
