The Principal Mrs. Latzoni is an absolute gem! She knows every child by name. My son is only in his 2nd year there and last year he had a great teacher. While researching schools I was so concerned about a schools "test scores". The one thing that stuck with me was advice I received from an unbiased educator. When you live in a diverse area you are prone to have children coming into the school that don't have English as a first language. When those students take tests, they are bound to have lower scores. Those lower scores are not differentiated from the whole school. So I'm learning to judge a school by the work my son brings home, what the teachers teach and how well he is retaining the lessons. Not by national test scores.
The leadership and focus on the children is excellent at school # 8. THe Principal is very involved in each grade and the teachers are amazing!! There are many parents who are involved in activities which make the school so successful! School # 8 is great!
