If you deal with Special Services, then your child has an I.E.P. that YOU signed with specific learning goals. That dictates your child's program, not the Principal! Maybe YOU should brush up on the laws! I have always been treated with respect and digity at this school.

Agree with a lot of the points in another review...sarcastic administrative staff including special services staff. I think that the prinicipal of this school has no clue. Most of the older staff in the school have been there too long and can't even undertand the difference between a child and adult. It's very military there...they want all children to fall in line and if they don't, your child gets sent home repeatedly. Also, I think the prinicpal should read the Federal Laws regarding public education and teaching....every teacher is supposed to teach to the individual..not insist that every child subscribe to the way the teacher wants to teach. The public schools forget they are "paid servants"...paid by our tax dollars....treat the parents with dignity and respect, not arrogance!

Average/academically mediocre as stated previously. Unless you are familiar with the staff and able to hand pick, many teachers are sarcastic and very critical. There is no real recourse for a child who is struggling. Also, this district is so political, that you can't expect a problem to be resolved competently unless you are part of the Ruling Class. With few notable exceptions, our experience has been very disappointing.

I think this school is average in every sense of the word. Teachers are stuck in their ways and do what I call an average job. Most of my son's teachers have been negative and not helpful, except for Ms. Viola (1st grade teacher). If I were to send my child through this school again, I would hand pick his teachers. Many are too strict and really should retire. When the dead wood gets out of this school, there could be hope. But for my son, his experience was negative.

Meadowbrook school teachers are all properly educated. They obtain the appropriate degrees and certifications. A teacher's education is undeniably important. But what about other equally important qualifications? For example, the ability to support individuality and more importantly, a childs self esteem. An educator certainly needs to teach reading, writing and arithmetic, but what about seeing a bigger picture? Do these teachers nurture and support our children? After all, our children are in their care more than 6 hours a day. I cant speak for the entire staff. I can however share that my childs teacher is sadly missing these qualities. Children at such a young age are building a foundation of self image. We should embrace their efforts and accomplishments, and gently guide them through their mistakes. I haven't seen much encouragement in my childs second grade experience. Concerned Parent

This school is wonderful. My daughter is really growing and learning a lot. The teachers are very involved with the students learning.

Meadowbrook is a good school, but there is a need for newer teachers. The staff is basically a seasoned staff and some of the teachers have reached burnout.

No strong leadership in this school. Administrars don't return call back to parents sometimes it takes 2 weeks or never. Parents for the most part are not included in the school class room except for the one day a year deal. My child was allowed to just sit there and do nothing for 4 months and no teacher returned my calls. Principal shows no responsible leadership and teachers are hard presses to do much it has gone on for decades.
