My son is joined the school at 2013 for 1 grade. Now he is in 2nd grade.Teacher supporting with children and extra activities ( science fair, math weekly log, reading log)all are good.
This is the best school I have seen. Quality of education and methods followed to make the kids understand the concepts is really good
My daughter will start her third grade this yr. My elder son joined this school in the 4th grade. We were new to this country and more than nervous for my son being in a new place and all the challenges it poses for a new student. From day one , I know my son was in good hands and today he is high school and still credits some of his teachers from john Marshall in being good at all things, academics and personality development. i knew , my younger child would be going to the same school. I have watched my daughter blossom from the day she entered kindergarten to the 2nd grade. She is such a well rounded individual, I believe even I could not have done such a good job!!!
Our school is a model school for our district. Teachers are great at motivating, inspiring and guiding the students on their quest for knowledge. Reading is celebrated in our school. Each year there are many after school clubs that the students can join and enjoy like gardening club, walking club, computer club etc.
I have been associated with this school since 2007 when my eldest joined in th grade. now my younger is in 3rd grade. All her grade teachers have been excellent and I honestly have not even worried about her studies. I see the progress of my child and she has indeed come far along in academics and sports. The school has also shaped her personality perfectly. Its truly " The magic of Learning".
My third grader goes to John Marshall public school in Edison, and I have been very happy with his progress. Teachers are great, the Principal is always there for the students and parents, as a team, they work together to take the stress off our shoulders. This year, they organized the first Science Exhibition, and it was encouraging to see the entire school put up their exhibits with keen interest and passion.
my son goes to 2nd grade, i am very happy with the studies and other activities
i am a student and this a great school it's cool we have reallt really kind teachers and in phiz ed they make exercising very very fun!!!!!!!!!!
Its a great school ,my kids enjoyed this school ....whole year....the teachers & school staff is good & cooperative...my kids like that school.thanks
excellent school, my daughter is in kindergarten now and she is doing great in this school. Her teacher is one of the best I have seen
Good teachers, my daughter is in third grade now. She has been going there since kindergarden. We always got a good feedback from the teachers, whatever our concerns were we wrote a note to them and got quick responses. Only one thing they should have music instruments classes from third grade.
My son entered John Marshall September of 2009. He has some special learning needs and I feel as the Child Study Team and the related staff are receptive to his needs, for the most part. The only issue that I have with JMS is it's problem driven progress. The only children to receive progress reports are children who are in need of help. It should be called a lack of progress report, because if your child is functioning well their is no communication at all as to their performance. It's the same with the reprot cards. They only mark the areas that are in need of improvement, if they are performing satisfactorily then they do not mark the box at all. I must say that I expected more.
Poor in communication's with parents. Poor in professionalism in the administration Office. (aministrator's who answer the phones and greet the parents at the front desk)
My son worked very hard last year for Perfect Attendance . I ask principle why was it not acknowledge by the school, he stated 'because of the different religious holidays that do not appear on our calendar John Marshall School do not want to penalize, any particular nationality for taking off on their holiday, it s not a major concern when a child is out for a few days, it s expected their kids. I believe as a parent what gets acknowledge gets repeated. These are 3rd graders and coming to school everyday except when they re sick or family emergency etc should be what we re instilling in our children. When a principle is in support of taking off for holidays that do not appear on Edison calendar, we send the wrong message to our children.
My son was in kindergarden this past year and he will be in this school for the next 5 years and let me tell you if they started his eduction of this way, i have my work cut out for me. Took almost 6 months for me to get him extra help and when did ne get it, the last 2 weeks of school. I'm hoping 1st grade is better but after the year i just had with him i'm expecting the worst unfortunately.
I feel that every school should have an adequate art/music room. John Marshall does not provide this. The children stay in the classroom that they are in all day and a cart comes around to provide them with the art and music lessons. How can a child express themselves when they are in the same room all day long? The arts are a great way to vent out frustrations for these kids. And now it will only get worse once the new homes get built. Add some more kids to this already overcrowded school. Take away the gym/lunchroom let's just confine them to the classroom all day long. These kids deserve better than that.
High quality education my daughter really enjoyed her time. excellent staff and atmosphere. Parent involvement is high and academic program is well balanced.
