My son is a current student at EPMS and I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the school. My family moved to the district a few years ago, because at one time Elmwood Park was a nice town and had great schools. To our dismay that has greatly changed. Many of the teachers are here merely to collect a paycheck. I am a parent who is involved, hold a master's degree, therefore understand the importance of education. Many teachers at EPMS lack commitment and dedication to their students which is sad because it makes it challenging. Needless to say this is my child's last year in the district, we will be transferring for 8th grade. Parents have a huge role to play in the education of their children, however, when teachers have forgotten their commitment as well as their role, it cripples a child's academic success.

this school has no older influence. the high schoolers and older grades do not set good examples on children. Some teachers favor children. Mrs.Buffa tends to be mean to certain children and not to to others as my child tells me.

I hate this school. there is no spirit especially in the middle school. the red lockers are nice. there are too many kids in the hallways. teachers give out enough homework, but there are so much heavy books we need to bring home everyday. now they are cutting down lunch to 20 minutes. most of the people that work there aren't friendly. i'm planning to go to another school.

This school is terrific. Parents, you NEED to be involved and concerned. Don't just complain and speak negatively in front of your children. This is my third child to go through and each one has not had any problem. In fact, they liked school! We will stay with EP thru high school with our third child, now in 8th grade. No matter where you go, you must work hard...students and parents. There is NO easy way when it comes to your child's education. They even need your guidance and involvement thru college (I've had 2 very successful in college!) Take another look...you may be missing something.
