I cannot say enough about Marlton Christian Academy. The school has loving teachers, especially Mrs. Soorikian, and a loving staff. The school's secretary, Triacia, is amazing. The Principal Pastor David has the heart of a shepherd. I love that the teachers care about my daughter that attends the school. The school has been a great source of encouragement and strength to my family. It's an awesome place.

Marlton Christian Academy is an awesome school to send your child. My son (1st grade) and daughter (2nd grade) currently attend MCA and has blossomed in their education as well as their spiritual growth. Being in a Christian environment gives them the freedom to express their love for Jesus, the desire to learn more about Him and receive a solid education as well. I just love hearing my kids sing about the Lord! I would recommend MCA to anyone who is looking for and desire to give their child a great educational and spiritual foundation. Annie B.

Our son attends the Kindergarten and loves going here. His teachers bring out his strengths and we have watched him grow and learn. There is plenty of opportunity for parents to be involved. The flexibility of the early and after care programs is a great asset for working parents. Curriculum provides a strong academic foundation for the students.

The principal and director of operations are always available to address any questions or concerns. They never hesitate to respond when I call regarding my children. They deal with discipline and challenging interpersonal relationships between the children with love and reinforcement of biblical principles. They have nurtured my child's strengths and supported her personal and spiritual growth and maturity. There are opportunities to get involved in the school and be an active participant in your child's learning and social experience. I can't say enough good things about the staff, teachers and school.

Marlton Christian Academy is a great school! My child loves going to school and seeing all her teachers and friends. The school loves the children and you can see the love they have for the students. Yes, the school is going through changes and I believe it is for the better. With change there is always going to be some bumps along the way, but I believe that God is at the helm. Administration has always answered any questions that were asked and worked with my family to solve any issues. We love the teachers and the staff/administrators. Helping out at lunch is a blessing. To be able to see your child for an hour and seeing them interact with the other students is wonderful. I don't see it as a responsibility or a hardship as some parents might. To us it is a privilege to help out. If your want your child/children to grow and learn in an environment that is Christian based and loved I high recommend Marlton Christian Academy.

Happy I decided on Marlton Christian Academy Elementary for my daughter. My daughter came home each day with a smile and shared stories of what she had learned and what games she played with her friends at recess. We decided on MCAE so that our daughter would be taught in a Christian environment. Sure it would be nice to have the no tuition, large libraries, fancy art rooms, and high tech of the public school but MCAE offers so much more in my opinion. MCAE provides my daughter with a Christian/Jesus centered education based on the Abeka Curriculum, cursive writing and Latin; small classroom size for individual attention when needed; and gentle, yet firm discipline when needed. I appreciate being able to communicate with her teacher and school administrators each morning without having to set up an appointment. I also enjoyed helping out at lunch a few times. Not only did my daughter love seeing me, but it gave me an opportunity to see how she interacted with other students. At MCAE I have access to the administration to discuss and provide input regarding the curriculum which I likely wouldn't get at the public school. My daughter can't wait to play on the new playground next year

This school has changed during the past year. Before, the administration had the school's best interest at heart and was accessible to the parents. Public schools don't have that, so this was great to find. Now with the new administration it was hard to tell who was in charge and different answers were given from whoever you talked to, especially about discipline and school policy on bullying. The parents were needed to help staff the lunchroom because they did not have enough paid staff. The one great thing about the school was the teachers. They were always there for the children, hard workers, and tried their best when you could tell they were caught in the middle with the administration. The kindergarten curriculum is great, but at a school meeting, the principal gave us parents a lot of lofty ideas of how they want to change the curriculum and enhance it. It sounded great, but after seeing the school struggle financially I don't know how they are going to do this. The 'computer lab' is in the same room as the library/music room and the teachers have to teach 'art' in the classroom. Tuition is low, which is a plus, but you get what you pay for.

Since the prior reviews posted on this site the school has been taken over by a new Principal whose main job is to work for the church and who appears to have little interest or time to run this school. It's a shame to see how the loving family environment that existed with the previous Principal has disappeared. The Assistant to the currant Principal used to run the Preschool in Medford and has a very poor method of dealing with parents and staff. The curriculum in the higher grades is lacking in science and music and Spanish is taught as an after school (paid) program. The teachers are great the leadership at this school no longer is. It's also really sad that the Church does not appear to support the school and has accepted thousands of dollars raised through fundraisers by the school to build a playground on its new multimillion dollar property. The Kindergarten full day program is a wonderful program and is all this school should do.

MCA is a GREAT school!! Very caring and welcoming staff. The Abeka curriculm is SUPER, too....covers all subjects deeply with a Christian flair that seems to make the kids smile about what they are learning. My 2 kids who are now honors college students attended MCA 10+ years ago and I now have a 1st grader there which is proof that the school is also strong from the business standpoint!! Low tuition is a plus for me. Definitely worth every penny and more!!

Marlton Christian Academy is a wonderful school. The staff and teachers are so warm and caring and definately put your child's needs first. There are so many more personalized touches at this school that allow my child to experience which really puts them above public education. We love Marlton Christian Academy!!

What a sweet staff! A beautiful, clean, and healthy learning environment that I truly enjoy sending my son to! My daughter, now 8, attended this school and learned so much - it is amazing that it actually got even better! The curriculum is excellent, and the entire facility is so uplifting and pleasant to walk into. A diamond of a school!!

My twins have attended MCA for the past 3 years (2 yrs of preschool & now they are in kindergarten). Some reasons I chose MCA were: full day kindergarten, outstanding curriculum, introduction to religion, reasonably priced and it was highly recommended from friends who had children attend in the past. I feel that the teachers, principal and supporting staff genuinely care about the children. The principal and teachers are always available to address any questions or concerns. They never hesitate to respond when I call regarding my children. The communication I have continuously had with the principal and teacher proves that they are each there for the intellectual growth of the children; not because they have to be there just to do a job. I can't think of one negative thing to say. All I know is that each day my sons come home from school they have smiles on their faces and enjoy sharing all the new things they learned that day.

My son attended MCA in kindergarten and now 1st Grade. The teachers are absolutely amazing. I couldn't believe how much my son learned in kindergarten, and now I become even more amazed in 1st Grade. The teachers, along with the principal, are the best. In my opinion, they are over qualified, but I am surely not complaining!!! I would recommend this school to anyone. Your child receives an amazing (private school) education while at the same time is taught how to be "a good person." The children are surrounded by love throughout the school. They care so much about the kids. My daughter will begin kindergarten in September!!!!

I LOOOOOOVE this school, Alot has changed since Mrs. Kaluka has become the principle and my Kindergartner has thrived in the loving yet firm and structured environment. I will be putting both my children in this school next year and will keep them there as long as I can. School fees are also very reasonable.

My daughter's experience at MCA was absolutely wonderful! She attended kindergarten at MCA this past academic year. I was truly amazed at how much she learned in one year; her teacher was excellent! Not only were all of the teachers excellent, but so is the principal. She truly cares about the students and families of MCA. As a Christian, it was wonderful to know that my daughter was not only learning to read and write but that she was also learning about Jesus. If my family did not relocate to another state, my daughter would have continued at MCA. It is with great sadness that we left this wonderful school!

My secound grader is at 7th and 8th grade level on his standardized testing. I was not impressed with public school. While there have been some changes of late at this school and what seems to me to be a diffrence in views between the church board and previous principle, i must say that the love and superior education at mca is 2nd to none. My son is using a beka and he loves his small class size.

My Son is studying KG under Ms Soorikian and I just want to say that he has picked up so many skills and reading capabilities under her. He reads almost everything now and I cant express how exciting that it. His teacher is excellant and is the ONLY reason for his improvement. The new Principal is wodnerful and caring. The after care staff are GREAT as well. Overall I wouldnt have wanted my Son in any other school for KG. Hope they keep up the good work.

I am very sorry to hear that the principal has left this school. My children received an excellent education while they were there. The A-Beka program was definitely used as well as other materials that reinforced the material presented. I also found the principal very involved with the students and their families. I am glad that my family had the opportunity to have met her and to be guided by her with her christian values. It is a shame that the school didn't try to keep her. However, I understand her new school is going great and the families feel blessed to have her as their principal. MCA lost but another school gained.

I never had any problems with the school nor did I have any problems with the principal or staff. I thought everyone was warm, and helpful. I was not pleased with the principal of this school last year. I was not planning to return until I heard she was leaving. The new principal seems very organized, is gracious, and the music minister at the church (a man of God). Now I am extremely excited to be bringing my child back. Kindergarten was a great experience and now I am looking forward to First Grade and Ms. Previte.

My child attended MCA through 3rd grade. I would agree that the K program is very good because of the dedication of the teachers and amount of time the children spend there (it is full day), however the remaining grades are quite lacking. The curriculum is not a-beka, as a previous poster stated. The principal told me it was, but after going through the entire year there I saw that a-beka books and workbooks were never used. After transferring to another school, my child struggled with language arts and math. Also, the principal can be quite abrasive at times, which is probably why she has received many negative comments on this board.

The Kindergarten program is second to none. Two of the three are masters level. All three are well experienced educators. One of the three teachers is also a certified guidance counselor. All three are impecable. This A-Beka program far exceeds the public school programs which are totally substandard. The entire elementary school is filled with Godly men and women all certified in elementary education. Anyone who does not view this school as being an excellent program should take a look at themselves and assess what they think they are looking for in a Christian schooll

MCA is an amazing school. It has a kind and compassionate staff who love the students just as much as their own children. I am a graduate of MCA, and i went there all of my life., and i kno go 2 Nottingham High School. I am on the Honor Roll and in all High Level classes. I highly reccommend MCA for all parents who want their children to have a quality educatoin to pick this school. I am a strong christian today and that is partially thanks to MCA.

I couldn't disagree more with the current reviews. I think it goes to show that you can't please everyone all the time. My child has been attending MCA since kindergarten. We have been extremely pleased with the academic program, as there has been a lot of hands-on teaching, with the children learning by seeing and doing and not just by hearing. My child was sick one day and couldn't go to school. She cried and cried because she wasn't allowed to go. They must be doing something right.

My daughter attended MCA from first grade through eighth grade. I find her academic skills superior to most of her public school peers. However, more than that my daughter graduated with excellent moral values and the self-confidence of knowing she was loved. Her teachers and principal bent over backwards to ensure a well-rounded education. The academic program was also well-rounded and well taught; she was exposed to Latin, music, sewing, cooking, etc, in addition to the regular academic subjects. The school offered assembliles or field trips monthly with interesting and educational subjects. Most of all my daughter knows that God loves her and how He wants her to live her life. I recommend this school to everyone!

My child will not be returning to MCA after a very disappointing year. MCA declined in every possible area: weak academics, terrible after care program, surprising lack of Biblical education, horrible food. There was a huge turnover in teachers throughout year. Most upsetting was a pervasive negative attitude among the existing staff.

July 16, 2007
My thought on this school is there is absolutely no accountability. From the first day, we were lied to about the quality of education, extracurricular activities, field trips, computer lab, lunches, etc. There are so many compromises of ethics in the school and when issues are brought up to the principal and/or pastors; they are ignored. Many times the principal's attire is totally inappropriate. Mind you, this is supposed to be a Christian school. The entire school's dress code needs to be enforced. One positive is the fullday Kindergarten program. Marlton and other nearby communities lack a fullday Kindergarten and this is the only thing keeping MCA alive. Be careful if considering MCA! Will not be returning!!

MCA is basically used for it's fantastic fullday kindergarten. Afterward, the enrollment drops drastically, even when priced considerably less than competitors. Art/Gym,1st,3rd,4th,7th and 8th grade are new staff to MCA this year.(Also; the nurse of 2 wks & 2or3 secretaries!)The curriculum & extracurriculars are available, but not showing to be 'excellent'. All complaints, such as treatment of staff, students, or parents(and food concerns),are mostly disregarded. Low principal/pastor accountability! Security is fine,as they did install a system this year. Yet,safety remains a concern. No nurse. Discipline is light. Very little child encouragement exists to 'love one another'.

i guess you have to look at the uniqueness of the reviews. It seems like the same person is giving the same bad review. The school is fantastic. I know personally that the school board works with local public school principals to develop curriculum. Also, the school answers in part to Burlington township public school board, as some of the funding is derived from public grants. The teachers and the leadership are phenomenal. I actually spend time with my children after school, so mine are doing great. Thanks MCA

As a parent of two students I have to speak up. My two younger children have been attending 'MCA' since PreK and 1st grade. Over the years I have seen many things change. I was never involved much with the school. Due to illness, it was all I could do to get my kids there. But I always knew they were safe and happy, and they were learning. Don't misread me, sometimes there were problems, but they were always worked out. I am able to spend time at the school now. I see first hand what goes on day to day. It is unbelieveable what our principal and staff have to deal with. In one of our weekly communication envelopes there was a poem by mother Theresa called 'Do it anyway', Mrs. Di Menna does. God Bless her. Thank God for MCA.

Fantastic school. My son went from not being able to read the smallest word to reading at a 1st grade school level. His teacher, Mrs. Rochlis, is wonderful as are all the other teachers. I highly reccomend MCA if you care about your child's education and learning to the best of their ability. This school brings out the best of your child. Every child is treated as an individual and knows that their teacher and the volunteer moms really care. My son is learning Latin and loving it. Band is great and the dramam team is just fantastic. Parents are so supportive and love to volunteer to help out in any way possible. Involvement is very much appreciated and parents are definetly made to feel they are part of the learning team. Love the school!

The parent participation in this school is phenomonal! The curriculum however, leaves something to be desired. In 2004 there was a survey of the 15 children who left the school; 'did your child ease in to the new school at the same grade level with or without difficulty?' out of the 15, 13 had moderate to extreme difficulty going in the same grade - 2 had to repeat the grade! Several that have left the school this year are having to be homeschooled in order to catch up to their grade level...mine included. Go into this school with your eyes wide open! There are no standards that they have to adhere to! They are a private/perochial school - they only have to answer to the church board. The curriculum that is taught is what the principal thinks is best, not what NJ says the children have to learn.

This school is wonderful! MCA's teachers are wonderful! The 6th grade math and science teacher would help you in a heart beat. She stayed until 4:00pm to help me with math! Thats what I call a good teacher. The history teacher is so kind! She never let the class have a boring time, and her projects we so fun! The writing teacher was awsome! I don't think I have ever had so much fun writing stories! She even helped me with my essay. The LAB teacher may be in a wheel chair, but her heart and mind make up for it. She has to be one of the smartest people I know, and she never missed school. Mrs. DiMenna knows every kids name by heart, and if you saw her in the hall, she would always praise you. I had been going for 7 years, and I will miss this school.

My daughter went to this school for three years. The first two Pre K and Tran K were wonderful. Her third year her Kindergarden teacher was a godsend. The problem that I encountered was the principle for k-8. She does not treat all children the same. Some are her favorites and most aren't. Some recieve harsh punishments and others don't. I saw this happen quite often, and no it didn't happen to my daughter. I ask parents to beware this is not the 'perfect school' that they pretend to be. Enrollment is declining rapidly. Of the children that were in my daughters class one is returning. What does this tell you? The only praise that I will give this school is to the caring teachers. I do believe that they cherish the children that they teach and I applaud them for that. The principle should leard from them!!!

When I pick up my granddaughter three afternoons a week I find a happy, excited child who always has had a good day!! She reads two grade levels higher than her grade and is a 'reading buddy' for another child. For fun she asks us to propose math problems for her to solve! She speaks fondly of her teacher. I'm impressed with the excellent start this school has provided. Her word attack skills are amazing. She can write paragraphs and compose short reports. She loves to learn. All this, and she loves Jesus, sings about God, prays freely. Her school is an extension of her home and church. It is a joy to watch her become what she was created to be. And she's only in first grade.

As you can see from these reviews, MCA has many happy parents and children. Two or three parents want to hurt the school for no valid reasons. Each day, MCA has more more and more parents coming to register their children for MCA's Elementary School. They have heard of our excellent curriculum which can out-shine many of the public schools. If you want an excellent academic program, coupled with a caring Christian environment, come to MCA, you'll be glad you did.

MCA has been a Godsend to our family for 7 years. We consider it an excellent school in every way. Their teachers are highly trained and caring. Their curriculum in reading, math, science and history could stand up to any public school and far surpasses it. Ethics and values are included in the curriculum to make this a very unique school.Being Bible-based is very important to our family, and it is included in a very meaningful way. Test scores are high. Creative writing is stressed, with a teacher dedicated to just that task. We are totally pleased with this school, the admisnistration and the competent and dedicated staff. We highly recommend Marlton Christian Academy to all.

I would like you to know that the enrollment in this school is drastically decreasing! Most all of the children in this school that are being transferred to other schools are having EXTREME difficulty! Parents don't be snowed by the'loving and caring' atmosphere, it can be loving and caring but at what price are we willing to pay? The children are not suceeding when leaving this school. Please don't bury your head in the sand like the others!! This is a glorified DAY CARE! And as far as safety - see for yourself, walk in this school at any time unannounced, you WILL NOT be stopped; someone will smile at you and go about their business.

My children have been at Marlton Christian Academy since kindergarten. They have had an excellent experience at this school. The teachers willingly take up extra time with the students, helpng them to understand difficult subjects. They also stand behind the students if they are struggling emotionally as well. The 3-8 grades curicculum is as good,if not better than public schools. The best part is it is taught with a christian emphasis, which you will never find in public schools. The kids are taught to love each other and learn respect for others as well. I have watched my chldren grow up loving God and others and have a great self esteem as well for the right reasons. their teachers are great and go out of their way to make learning fun. My children love learning and want to be teachers, like their teachers when they grow up.

The school represents a loving and academic environment. The principal and staff goes the extra mile for the families represented in the school. The supplemental activities and materials cannot be found in the public school setting. I praise the principal for her insight into what is needed by the staff and students. She handles each child in a loving and caring way. I recommend this school to any parent who wishes a loving and academic environment for their children. As a parent and educator I would like others to realize that no school is a utopia. All schools have problems. Marlton is a nice, little christian school that has the personal touch. It is sad to see one parents rantings and ravings about thier child. Please take every case on a one to one basis. In other words, beware of what others say out of spite. This school has a curriculmn that matches or surpases the public school. Pray before you deciede.

I am shocked by the negative review posted on this site in January 2005. I have had a completely different experience. I have three children attending MCA. All have a passion for learning. All enjoy the relationships they have with fellow students and the care they receive from the wonderful teachers here. One of the great marks of a superior school is the ability to instill in the student a lifelong love of learning, enabling the student to continue this love independently. My children come home each day sharing with enthusiasm what they learned at school. The cost is very reasonable. I am quite pleased with MCA and would highly recommend this school.

I personally had 2 children at this school. Beware! This principal has her favorites. Money is valued at this school more than your children. The curriculum after 2nd grade leaves alot to be desired. When I removed my children from this school, my 4th grader tested out at a 3rd grade level and it was recommended to me that he be put back in 3rd grade ( by 4 different schools)! My 8th grader who attended this school for 3 years (and was always and A-B student) tested out at a 7th grade level - It is currently being recommended that she be put back to learn what she should have in the years she was at Marlton. Parents beware of this school. You dont get the education you pay for and your children will suffer in the long run when they leave this school!
