The Fair Haven Schools have been going down. The grading system is about making parent and children happy. They have done away with 100% and A thru F . Everything is "FAIR" in Fair Haven, therefore Children are not challenged (that would leave some behind and that;s not FAIR)

The education at Knollwood is mediocre. Test scores are high, but not due to the academics. The affluent population consists of students, from well educated families that are super involved. These students would be successful anywhere. The curriculum is unique, although the administrators would try to sell it as cutting edge. Is anyone else disappointed in the highly promoted writing program? It would be beneficial if your student was planning on becoming the next Danielle Steele. Imagery, Imagery, Imagery...

Moved to this area becasue I knew it was a good school district. but now I cannot believe how great it is. It is like a private school. coming from another district it is night and day. I really don't see how anything could be better.

Basically I am happy but not with a 'new' 1st grade pilot program that seems to bypass basics. There is a buzzer at the front door. Very Poor parking. Teachers are helpful, I rate them very high.

A school devoted to student success by creating a curriculum that changes with the times though not without a tremendous amount of thought and research. It is not afraid to leave the out of date, so-called 'traditional' method b/c it feels 'safer' for parents to see a textbook, spelling and math book each night. Each teacher is fully trained in each subject matter he/she teaches and makes our children feel loved, respected and successful. I have seen countless families with 2-3 children all fall in love with Knollwood and miss it's open doors once left.

Students are well prepared for high school and life in a safe and friendly atmosphere. There are many new clubs to include everyone's interests and abilities. The teachers are excellent and many have been in the area for years.

This once well above average district has 'dumbed down' its curriculum considerably and consistently in recent years. Honors, tracking and G&T classes have been eliminated. Above average students flounder but below average students do benefit.
