My daughter is in the fifth grade. I am not going to deny the fact that I was a little worried in the beginning in registering my daughter to this school because of their ratings. We are new residents to NJ it was hard having to start NEW in all categories. The fact that our daughter is a dedicated and brilliant student is what kept us going. Now I can input on what my personal opinion is. So far I like the experience in the 5ive and 6ix School. Our daughter has made Honor Roll and her teachers are working with her and pushing her to reach the Principals List. This has been a positive experience so far. I hope the Principal and Teachers in this school continue to show hard work and dedication so the school can receive better ratings.

I am a new parent to this school this year. I know the school has been struggling with test scores over the past years but I do believe the Principal and her administrators are on the right track to getting it corrected. The staff is very nice & the school seems to be run effectively.

The Honors Math and Language Art classes are great. Far ahead of many schools in the area! Also there is a huge variety of 'specials' classes, including Home Ec, Technology, TV Studio, Film & Television, to name but a few!

I was skeptical about sending my child to the Hackensack schools. The economy in shambles, I couldn t afford Catholic school tuition anymore. After talking with the 5/6 school Administrative Coordinator (Lisa) and the Principal Ms. Whiting, I decided to send my child to start 6th grade. My daughter enjoyed her 1st yr. The academics are rigorous and she made good productive friends. Addditionally, if your child needs help, the school will find resources for you. It s truly important to come out to the PTA meetings. The meetings are very informative and both Principals Ms. Whiting and Ms. Parchment from the 7/8 building always attend. Teachers attend as well as law enforcement officials to make parents aware of community happenings and opportunities. All group representatives are open to feedback from the parents. Please take part in the Hackensack s schools. I guarantee your children will appreciate your efforts.
