Hackettstown High School definitely isn't as bad as people say it is. If you give a reason for people to be upset with you then they will but you can find that in any school. I am in all honors and in band and chorus and i have never been made fun of once for being too smart. The teachers are okay and most are very passionate for their job. There may be one or two that you need to ask for more help because some teachers seem to teach different from how people are used to being taught but all you have to do is ask guidance for a tutor or ask the teacher for help and they will be willing to get you any help you need. Plus there are always National Honors Society students looking for kids to help know the material in classes. Having kids come from a couple towns gives the students opportunities to meet some really nice people too. Sometimes you will come across a person that will tease you but if you ask them to stop they most likely will people are respectful to each other but students can get disrespectful to substitute teachers. All together I like going to Hackettstown High School

hi. i am a freshman at hackettstown middle school, and i can honestly say i really hate it. me and my family moved all the way from NY here. I regret moving here, i get made fun of because i am in all honor classes. the school made such a good impression the first time i went to visit. please guys dont make the mistake and come here i made that mistake and technically cry every night, i want to switch schools but now it is to late. the neighboorhood is good, but the school is a nightmare espcially is you are in all honors. i regret coming to hackettstown. i havent had 1 enjoyable day. and the teachers suck u can fail and they will pass you. this is the worst school .

My daughter is finishing her freshman year and I am terribly disappointed in Hackettstown High School. The Administration and teachers have very low expectations for the students...an atmosphere of not caring.

I am currently a sophmore at HHS. I think the school isn't so bad. They have numerous activities that anyone can get involved in. Most teachers are great, though some aren't. There are many academic opportunities that are available to ensure that the students succeed. I do not think HHS is as bad as a lot of people think it is.

I was a substitute teacher a short time ago. On my last assignment at HHS I told the Assistant Principal at the time not to call me back. The behavior of the students was abhorrent, totally disrespectful. My son attended HHS for his freshman year. His Math teacher stated on his progress report that he was doing well. When I asked him for his quiz grades, I found out he failed 4 out of 5. When I asked the teacher about that, she didn't think his grades were so bad! When he started his sophomore year at another high school, he had to learn Spanish I & II together because Spanish I at HHS was inadequate.

Not a wide variety of courses, particularly foreign languages (limited to Spanish & French). Teachers are very good and readily accessible to students and parents. I had concerns about safety when my child first entered, but have none now. Sports are emphasized, but other activities are available as well.

I have a senior who has thrived at HHS. He is now ready to finish his last year. My freshman is excited, but has found out a little about the politics and is a bit wary of trusting teachers and administration. Guess I am, too. The academic programs have be super, music is sporadic, there were good directors, but they were let go. I am very involved and don't think they listen to what we have to say as parents. All in all, though, kids are happy and well disciplined.

We have 2 sons that attend Hackettstown High School and a daughter who will be attending in a few years. I would like to say that we have no problem with this school. Both our sons are doing very well acedemically and in their extra curricular clubs. Our oldest son is a senior and has been accepted to two Ivy league schools, Cornell and Columbia and other very selective schools such as Carnegie Mellon, RIT and Bucknell. I think that says alot, not only does he have a good work ethic but his teachers have instilled a love of learning in him. Our younger son never has complained about going to school and when he's asked for help his teachers have always gone above and beyond to be there for him. This school may not be Randolph HS or West Morris, but it is a good school.

All I can tell you is that my child says she loves going to school. She gets up in the morning and looks forward to going to school. That coming from a teenager tells you a lot about the school! I feel safe knowing that she is going to this school and knowing that she is happy makes it all the more better for me as a parent.
