This school has made leaps and bounds ... from being mediocre to being one of the top schools in the county according to the 2009 US News and World Report- awarding it a bronze medal! Congratulations.
I don't live/work in the 3 towns of MRHS district, but know parents, residents, children attending or graduated from MRHS. This district never gets the recognition it deserves and has misrepresentations constantly perpetuated. Newspapers rarely spotlight the positives; maybe a few people will read this. MRHS has a small budget that is often rejected. This and $$ send to Tech cost programs, but staff do wonders with what it has. New 2008 scores aren't on this site; improvements in Language Arts & Math are great. Few know that MRHS is one of 5 county high schools to make Adequate Yearly Progress in student performance. Nine others didn't, and most of those have failed multiple years in a row. As the county's only Choice School, MRHS accepts students by application for its highly regarded technology program. Student activies are all around. MRHS deserves recognition for its many great programs, teachers, achievements!
Not a very good school at all and is continuing to get worse. I wouldn't say the faculty is apathetic...rather the students are. The teachers tried hard to get through to students and the kids just don't care about homework or listening to teachers. I would hate being a teacher here. However, the level of academics is this school is not challenging at all. Very little homework is given....you have to be in honors courses in this school to get anything out of it. Athletics are not competitive at all
Very disappointed. Coming from an over crowded community. Moving to haledon was wonderful and so we thought would also be the school system. I'm utterly disappointed with their system. They just seem push the students through.
Definately not a good school for your child to do his or her best. Lack of homework because the teacher cant depend on the the students doing the work.
This is not a good school to go to if your looking for that extra push for your child! Not a good school spirit, or value of education. They tend to push the students through!
