St. John's Academy is a wonderful school. Our child loves going to school every day where he is greeted by a teacher who truly loves her students and teaching. The traditional school setting and challenging academic program instills excellent skills in reading, writing, and math. Every student can go once a week for after school help at no extra charge to the parents. The children are exposed to Spanish beginning in kindergarten and along with their once a week art program are given the chance to explore famous artists and their works through an Art Smart program. The families are highly encouraged to participate in school events and fund raising and do so happily and with great enthusiasm. The principal and assistant principal are absolutely wonderful and dedicated to making St. John's Academy the successful school that it is. They show a high level of professionalism and leadership at the school. From the moment you enter the school, you are greeted by friendly and professional staff. The school also takes a serious and strict approach to school safety.
I swithched my children from an axcellent public school to St. John's. The school offers a warm, nurturing environment. The teachers are excellent and focus on the children. The school is small enough that the staff knows the children and their parents. It is a very nice community and though the academics are probably equal to the surrounding excellent public schools, the environment makes it funner to learn in.
I find SJA to be a school filled with caring nurturing teachers and Principal and Asst Principal who are superior to what I have experienced in other schools. The curriculum coupled with the willingness of teachers and and the entire administration to work with the Parents are challenging and supportive. Children learn and the teachers teach.
